Title: 1942 Stalingrad film effects Post by: ShadowSix on September 05, 2003, 08:06:37 pm Hi all,
I still watch the "1942 Stalingrad" virtual film and am inspired by the effects that are displayed. I was wondering--could anyone let me know how the 'vibration' effect was made when the bombs exploded on the ground? These shots were taken with a static camera and are great. Do you use Adobe After Effects to accomplish this? Also, my virtual film, "INFAMY" is out for download on Wiley's site. It is my first film and it is about the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Here is the link to Wiley's home page. Choose the 48mb version--it is alot better than the 31mb version: http://people.ee.ethz.ch/~chapman/flightsims/oberstguncam/Frameset/index2.htm TIA for any help on the special effects for 1942 Stalingrad! I almost thought I saw some Ki's for a minute.I was yelling for the guy in the jeep to bail, lol. Ctrl E wasn't working either...Kingsnake did all the filming and editing for Stalingrad. Kudos to him. I'm not sure what software he used.Keep it up...hopefully we'll have some real Zeros to shoot soon!S!TX-Seeker

The LA as Zero was close enough for me, but the Stukas were too much of a stretch. I'd rather watch your version than the feature film, which stunk. I looked at that score and was considering using it. I decided against it because it starts off good as the Zeros creep up in a sneak attack, but the rest of the score is languid. Zimmer is a good composer for making movies like this. He knows how to compose for combat. I have seen others use the black and white filter you used. I am not impressed with that filter. It really doesn't show up well as it gets compressed. There are wierd artifacts in that black and white scene that just don't look like black and white footage. Try another plugin or another way to process the film. Magic Bullet is a good filter to use.TX-KingsnakeWhite >+
