Title: 1.2RC stops at Dec 1 12:00 AM
Post by: TX-EcoDragon on December 01, 2003, 12:19:24 am
An interesting feature of FB 1.2RC is that it stops working at midnight december first. For the moment this means that to play you must turn your clock/calender back a bit.

I like november anyway

While skinning tonight, I found I had to reset my time every five minutes. Here's some helpful tips to disable the automatic clock sync in Windows XP:For a PC not on a domain (most home networks):To turn off clock synchronizationIf your computer is a member of a domain, your computer clock is probably synchronized automatically by a network time server. If your computer is not a member of a domain, your computer's clock is automatically and regularly synchronized by an Internet time server. This procedure provides information on turning off this feature.Open Date and Time in Control Panel. Click the Internet Time tab. The Internet Time tab is not available if your computer is a member of a domain.Clear the Automatically synchronize with an Internet time server check box. For a PC on a domain (such is my case, and a few others in the squad):To stop the Windows Time service: 1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command Prompt. 2. Type net stop w32time, and then press ENTER. Note... next time the PC is booted, the service will be restarted.   You must configure the service to start manually if you wish for this to remain stopped.  1.  To disable the service permenantly, right click "my computer" on the desktop, left click "manage".2.  Expand Services and Applications, then left click on Services below that.3.  In the window on the right, find and double click "windows time".4.  In the field labeled Startup Type, select either Manual or Disabled.Good luck, I hold no responsibility for anyone who hoses a perfectly good load of Windows XP by clicking on the wrong things.  At this point I'm not sure what the side effects of stopping the time service are, but to be honest I'm not really that worried about it.TX-Deck out.
