Recently we lost power and I think TXU may have put a little extra sump'n sump'n on the line. When power was restored it took a few reboots to get my PC up. But now the pc doesn’t see either of the cd rom drives. It’s taking 4 times as long to boot as it did before and it even hangs when entering the cmos setup.
I think I burnt something; thinking a overhaul will be required.

Question: Did you check (and clear) the Temp Folders?Also, try going into the BIOS and reseting it. Do the Drives light up, or open? Do you have any yellows or reds in Device Manager?Try pluggin in the CD-RW on the HDD ribbon cable. WHAT is the name of the brand of Power Supply that you have?It could be as simple as replacing that. ~Bill ~Bill

Well I don’t understand it. Was going to try to reset the bios (no soft switch for it so I was looking through the doc’s for a jumper) but thought I might as well take care of the easy stuff on your list first. So I cleared the temp folder (not much in there) and rebooted and what do you know, during start up I saw it detect both the cd and dvd drives. Like I said I don’t understand it but I am back in business.Thanks Bill for the great tech support.

Well, I can't fly formation, I never land wheel-side down, and Bomblast just laughs when I fly with him....... but I am good at some things...
