Title: Video Capture device Post by: TX-Deck on December 15, 2003, 03:06:17 pm Can any of my fellow eggheads out there make a recommendation on a video capture device, such as a video card or (preferably) an external USB device?
Any thoughts and comments to back up the recommendation would be very helpful, such as personal preferences, features, and experiences. I have a boatload of home video on analog 8mm format that I need to get from the camera to the pc, and we also have many old VHS tapes which would be nice to backup as well. For now I just want to rip the mpeg or avi's to a cd, possibly create something in the vcd format. Eventually I will obtain a DVD-RW drive and goto that format. I'm looking for something in the $75-$200 pricerange. Thanks! TX-Deck out.
