Title: Prokhorovka 1943 Post by: TX-Zen on December 21, 2003, 04:29:53 am This was the largest and final battle of Kursk in July 1943 and is the focus of a new mission I am creating and testing right now.
Here's a few screens to wet your appetite, but there are several more intense ground pounding locations in store. The mission is almost finished and will be ready for play testing soon. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() TX-Zen Black 6 Title: Re: Prokhorovka 1943 Post by: TX-Raptor on December 21, 2003, 11:11:47 am This mission looks like it will be a blastJABO missions galore!!!When will it be done Zen??~STX-RaptorGreen 1
Title: Re: Prokhorovka 1943 Post by: TX-Zen on December 21, 2003, 12:13:57 pm The basic mission is completed and it's up in UBI for playtesting the lag. There are a few hundred tanks, ATG's, artillery pieces, trucks and cars in this mission and some of them are in direct combat. I want to see how playable it is before I start cranking it for FBD. Title: Re: Prokhorovka 1943 Post by: TX-Kingsnake on December 22, 2003, 04:22:59 am If you are interested, I have a stupidly over detailed account of the battle down to the number of infantry units / panzers, air, and infinite minutia on weather and lighting conditions. Also included is a timeline in 15 minute increments. Too much information.

Title: Re: Prokhorovka 1943 Post by: lil_labbit on December 22, 2003, 08:44:50 am This will be interesting... but will it be flyable...As I understand it there were thousands of tanks/artillery units at Kursk...Now I admit right away I'm no history buff but wasn't that mainly a tank battle (seen some footage on Discovery channel - awsome) - sky blackened - IL2's (and others) flying overhead - glad I wasn't there then...How many tanks / units you plan to insert into the map ?
Title: Re: Prokhorovka 1943 Post by: TX-Zen on December 22, 2003, 01:32:38 pm With over a hundred tanks, artillery pieces, trucks etc, the mission ran fine for 10 players online. I think it's workable to have large battles online, we have a very fast connection. Most of the peeps that helped play test were on DSL and thought it ran very well. TX-ZenBlack 6
