Title: New stick Post by: TX-Copper on April 01, 2004, 05:28:29 am Well....got the Saitek X-45 the other day, and although for the first time in months I had a steady plane/gunsight, it seemed a little too much, with seperate throttle etc, and buttons coming out the ying yang. Took it back and got the Saitek EVO.....think im in love. Already noticed an improvment in my gunnery, and the plane seems to be on auto pilot when I let go of the stick. Dunno why I posted this....guess I wanted to share my new found joy..:)

Title: Re: New stick Post by: TX-Chukar on April 02, 2004, 04:42:16 am When I read you took your saitek back because of to many buttons I screamed "NOOOOoooo !". I think there are only 3 sticks including the Saitek that offer that type of programming power. For myself I could never go back to a single stick, I refuse, I'll quit first! I know it takes time to learn to program and even more time trying to remember were you programmed every function to but once you do its great - no more keyboard or mouse. This is also why I am horrible at responding to text messages in the game because I tend to take the keyboard off the desk top and lay it by my feet. If some asks me a question its like ...Shat! - where's the keyboard!I have checked that model out before (looking for a backup for the twin boat anchors) and for a single stick it looks like the programmability is quite good. I would actually be interested in how much it is capable of.If this one feels better for you though then that's good. What ever makes the game better for you. There are a lot of good pilots like yourself and Monguse it seems that feel the same way you do so enjoy the new stick pard.

Thought about FS2004.....having the trottle stand alone...the programing of the buttons, but for me it was nearly impossible to run the stick/throttle/keyboard set-up....i yap too much in chat etc, and am just so used to the single stick/throttle. This evo seems to have a fair amout of programing available....just not as much as the X45. You're right tho Chukar....it comes down to what your most comfy with..:)
