Post by: TX-Rahman on April 13, 2004, 01:20:55 pm
Folks,
I have a friend who I have gotten into the sim....  Just messaged me that he's a junkie now...

Question:  I know a few of you out there have X45 sticks...  His wife just bought him an X45... He asked if I had a profile for this stick but I do not.  Can you guys who do have them help by providing your profiles?

Mucho Appreciato!

Regards,

Here are several Profiles that I have. I use the one called Test, cause I am too lazy to change the name now that I have it where I like it! ~Bill (http://"pop_download.asp?mode=Edit&dir=Bill_Grant&file=1809")~Bill

Ok I broke down and bought one. Yes a Saitek X45. I can tell you right off the bat, If it had not been for Bill_Grant and his profile, I'd still be programming the sucker. Thanks Bill! Now to the matter at hand, Rudder Peddals! I need Rudder Peddals!I tried to take off and land using that Rudder Rocker Switch designed by the Spanish Inquisition. Taking off was tricky, landing was almost impossible. So, now I need real rudder pedals. I found an article on CH Products Pro Rudder Pedals USB. From what the article says, it has differential toe brakes,  true rudder pivot (left moves forward the right retracts) and a whole bunch more. Any of you guys use these rudder pedals or should I be looking somewhere else? The review article http://www.maximum3d.com/reviews/chpedals2.htmCH Home page http://www.chproducts.com/index.htmlOh and by the way, the reason I bought a new stick was because the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro's drivers are plauged with bugs. Here's the story http://www.everythingusb.com/hardware/index/Logitech_Extreme_3D_Pro_user_reviews.htmThanksS~TX-MonguseWar Room General"Colorless"

I use them.  Only caveat is the flooring that you put them on. If it is slick, prepare to chase them across the floor! Easy to use. Plug in. Setup Rudders/Brake in FB HOTASPlay. Gotta love it. ~Bill

Thanks Bill,Great, I can get a pair for $81.95.Whew, good thing I don't have to replace the floor (I have carpet) in addition to the cost of the rudder pedals. S~TX-MonguseWar Room General"Colorless"

I use the CH ProPedals USB and while they have a very light, springy feel to them, they do have toe brakes, and are the best I have used for the price. The slant tot eh pedals, and the lack of resistance makes them different than real rudder pedals in much the same way as our other controllers differ, The only pedals I have used that have a realistic ergonomics and feel are $395 or more. . . most other pedals in the price range of the CH ones do not have any toe brakes either.I would like them to be built to a higher standard, particularly the super thin wiring. For the most part though I don't think I would reccomend anything else over these for the money. There are some configuration things that will take a little work on your part, but nothin that we can't guide you through.S!TX-EcoDragonBlack 1TX Squadron XO
