Title: FYI-- Oleg's Joystick Settings Post by: TX-CUDA on June 04, 2004, 11:17:08 am ..been reading the 7 page forum discussion on joystick settings and read from an e-mail that Oleg sent one of the posters on joystick settings. I remember from the early days of IL2 that Oleg had posted his joystick settings...and they were even in one of the read me files with one of the early patches for IL2. At any rate here they are again if anyone is interested...

This file contains your joystick settings...amongst other things...I've used Olegs settings before....and still use some of them....His curves are much more gradual than the default. Makes flying 190's much easier initially...If your a 190 hater, then try these settings flying a 190, they make it easier....although you might not like these same settings on an LA/Zero/Spit aircraft as they are very gradual and you won't get the best response from the aircraft with Olegs curves...Don't think these curves feel right for 109 either, but don't take my word for it.hope this helps..
Title: Re: FYI-- Oleg's Joystick Settings Post by: TX-EcoDragon on June 07, 2004, 03:49:42 pm Just keep in mind that anyone with multiple controller IDs will have a different sort of listing than people who just have one. I have rudder pedals, and IL-2 only wants that as ID0 so when I need to adjust the stick (which I dont as I just got used to all sliders at 100) I would have to go into teh conf.ini file and manual make entries. To those who only have one stick they only need to go in the IL-2:FB main menu and then go into controls/hardware and adjust those sliders. the idea is to give then a concave up curve, ie. for the 10 value, input something lower than 10, and so on, make the difference between decrease as you go from left to right, such that the only slider that has a value equal to the slider name is 100. It seems that For 10 oleg uses 1, for 20 he has 4, for 30 he has 9. I like a bit more aggressive handling, but each of you may tune this to suit you. In the 190 it certainly is hard for me to hold wings level. . . and after flying with the formation team for 40 minutes im really sore, I am sure my gunnery would improve if I employed this also as these settings would reduce any pitch and roll oscillations!
