Title: STS Squadron Scrim
Post by: TX-Zen on January 18, 2005, 07:08:04 pm
Gentlemen,

I've been talking with STS Predator about a possible scrim this week. We've tentatively scheduled it for 8pm CST on Thursday, but may have to move it to the weekend due to scheduling conflicts with some of our members.

We will be using TeamUSA competition rules and we will be hosting the match. Predator is not certain at this point how many STS pilots will be able to attend, we are shooting for a 6vs 6 or possibly 8vs 8, but we'll have to wait on confirmation.

Please extend the STS squad a warm welcome if you see them online and remember to show them our professionalism and courtesy. Predator and I had a good talk last night, they are new to IL2 but are coming over as a group from CFS3 where they competed as an Axis squad. I think we're off to a good start, so please introduce yourselves if you get the chance.

Zen

Still working out the details, but I moved this to the public forum so that STS members can add input if they like. Current rule set is Gozr's International with 1.5 friendly-only black icons.Map is still undetermined but not particularly important and TX will be hosting the session. I sent a PM to Predator to see if Tuesday, 25Jan at 8pm CST will work, so if things flow well we will scrim instead of specific training that night. Zen

Ouch. . .that's no fun Copper.  You getting it under control? Let us know, always willing to help if we can, you know the type of infection it is? In any case, the STS put up a great fight, and seem like a top notch group of guys who I would love to get more flying time in with.  The match was well flown on all sides, and I think it was a learning experience for all of us. I look forward to the next one!S! STS, great flying, and it was great fun!!S!TX-EcoDragonBlack 1TX-Squadron XO

Sorry for my absence yesterday, had a little power outage at the house so I stayed the night at my beloved's place. I had quite a bit of fun and send my compliments to Predator and crew for outstanding sportsmanship and a server than ran very well. For me it was smooth as glass except for the occasional split second hiccup we all had, but other than that it ran very well and I had narry a pause or stutter. I was very impressed with both squads professionalism, I will go so far as to say that STS has been the most easy going and professional group I've scrimmed against and again, my compliments to you all for excellent conduct. I also think the length of the scrim was rather long, but I think we've seen ways to streamline the situation and get it moving faster, so next time we'll be in a better position to make things happen more quickly. Thanks to all on both sides for their patience. Tonight I'm going to try and review the tracks so we can have our leaders meeting between the two squads, but I have only a couple days to pack up and be ready to move to my new place this weekend, so timing is going to be rather tight. I will try to be online tonight for a little while, I think I can sneak in some time for this. Salute STS, I enjoyed the experience and look forward to our next scrim. I was pretty pleased with your squads performance and see lots of potential for you down the road as well. I definately think that considering how recently you transfered to IL2 that you are actually doing better than many squads out there and this points to your squadron talent and leadership quite a bit. There are lots of players and a fair number of squads that never 'get it'....I don't think STS is in that category, I genuinely feel you will be a force to be reckoned with as you master the complexities of the game. We'll be here to assist in any way we can, the door is open and we'll share our experiences willingly.
