Title: New Tiny ESC's
Post by: TX-EcoDragon on February 24, 2005, 01:38:34 am
I met a guy today at the R/C flying strip who decided to take on the big guys and try to build a better ESC (Electronic Speed Control) I don't know if he's done it, but they look promising, and very very light and tiny. He ended up offering to provide me with one free of charge as a beta test sorta deal. . . I don't have any other gear to put in a second foamy, but having an ESC is a big step in the right direction. I am getting a custom one made that is intended to be as light as possible, nothing extra. Most of his have a USB interface  for use in programming and while that is amazing given the size of these things, I don't mind programing with the transmitter sticks to save any and all weight that we can. Here are some pics of the one mine will be based on. This is a 20 amp (continuous) controller.

Here it is.

Pretty small eh?

Here it is on my transmitter. . to show that it's smaller than the on off switch!

And here you can see that is dwarfed by my Castle Creations 10 amp controller. . .the previous winner in tiny coolness!!
