How are you doing. I purchased the Simped Vario Flight Pedals some time ago to be used in Flight Simulators. However, I have decided to try and get it operating again. First of all, for any person out there using pedals..... have you really seen an performance increase when using pedals? My main issue- System & Hardware: Windows XP MS ForceFeedback II Joystick USB SB Audigy 2 Sound Card (Optional Replacment - SB Live Sound Card with Serial Game port) Simped-Vario NR: 199904 016 Sim-FFB NR: 9903 051 (No longer needed as New Joystick is USB) V-Stick NR: 0306018 Questions: 1. My new SB Audigy Sound card does not have a Serial bame port but a 1394 Firewire Port. I suspect that to get the Flight Pedals working I will have to switch to my SB-Live sound card. Correct? 2. At the moment the pedals seem a little slow and slugish while flying my favorite flight sim IL2 Sturmovik. Have you gotten any feedback or suggestions from other customers on setting this up. You attach it to a header on your Audigy and screw the plate with the connector into an unused slot behind your computer...that's how my Thrustmaster Elite pedals are hooked up

I am like Scotty on the enterprise..one hell of a self made engineer/Youcanfixitall type....... Look man you can make the pedals work first by being all that you have hooked up first........ Unhook your stick and make the pedals the first controller.. Make them a two position two button stick .....Contact me for help @ Fighter.pilot@insight.bb.com. Eliminate unwanted rudder applications due to twist stick yaw/roll coupling? Increase gunnery accuracy? Increase realism? Yes to each. . . so it just depends on how serious you are about flight sims. I for one wouldnt be without them. But for someone who doesn't own many sims, or who doesn't have any need for a more realistic control interface they may not be needed.As far as slow and sluggish response, well, the travel of the pedals is a lot more than any twist stick, so you will need mroe physical movement to get the same rudder travel, if the resposne is too slow for your tastes you can change the slider positions in the conf.ini but chances are they are already maxed out. I find that most rudder inputs in this sim can be made using jsut my toes, as there isn't really any torque or adverse yaw to worry about in the sim.
