Title: New Joystick
Post by: TX-Sputnik on March 05, 2005, 02:50:00 pm
Hey guys I got me a new joystick! I wouldent know if it was the best one though I was gonna pick up a saitek but I went with the Logitech wingman forcefeedback. It works great I feel, the only problem is it stops working in the middle of a game, then I cant control my plane. I have to actually restart my computer from then on to get it working again....

Thoughts?

My thoughts are.............................take it back and get rid of the FFb shat and if not, get rid of teh broke stick.................S~TX-FlightRisk "If my plane is smoking it can mean one thing...I have been hit in one of my ass cheeks and I am cauterizing my wound....."

Hate to say it, but I agree with FR that if you can, return it. Logitech rudder pots will be dead on you in a matter of weeks or months. . .and you'll need to return it then anyway. Seriously it's almost 100% failure with eh Logitech rudder. . . dunno why it's still like that. They are comfy sticks, but just simply not built well enough to get my ham fisted stamp of approvalS!TX-EcoDragonBlack 1TX-Squadron XO

That is unless you can find an old Wingman Force....I mean the OLD one...  I have two now...have had one of them for years...4 or so and it is still rock steady!  Other than OLD....grab something new and reliable!Regards,TX-Rahman"BLACK 4"

Well,I have had long life out the microsoft sticks though I don't really like the light feel and the few buttons, I think Copper has the Saitek Evo and he really liked it. . . Saitek has some other issues over teh liong term, but I think that they are nothing worse than the other longer lasting sticks.  .  . in the saitek's case it's usually a button that stops working after a year or two. . . which is less of a pain than having a spiking crazy rudder after a months worth of use.You know if you shop at BestBuy I hear you can get their replacement warranty thingy. . . and if you end up needing to  use it once every two years. . heck. . thats a life of stick ownership for not TOOOO much money  ;-)S!TX-EcoDragonBlack 1TX-Squadron XO

My Saitek has worked almost flawlessly over the last year.  The Logitech lasted maybe 4 months then calfed.  My vote goes to Saitek for the economical stick.  Feel really adventurous, then opt for the Saitek X-45...separate throttle control, and a heap of buttons.

Sput, i've had my eye on this Saitek stick for quite some time, but the Cougar just keeps trucking right along (amazing, actually)...http://www.saitekusa.com/usa/prod/x52.htmI think it can be had for between $100-$125 at the local Comp store.  Good luck!TX-Deck out.

Its what I have had since a year ago. Eco talked me into it and it has lasted.S~TX-FlightRisk "If my plane is smoking it can mean one thing...I have been hit in one of my ass cheeks and I am cauterizing my wound....."
