Question...is it a purchase only addon, or a patch dl? If so, is everyone buying it, or will you have no choice but to, as I see more and more servers going to the 4.05?

 

Yes, it's a paid add-on. . .mine came to about 18 dollars US.I guess it's like previous add-ons and updates in that the current version of the game is usually the only one that most online flyers will be using. 4.04 has been hanging around, I guess some people had trouble with the installation and some just didn't want to pay for it.I've had it a couple weeks and the Pe series are pretty nice! bought it, dl'd it, and unlocked it, but it won't launch.  Do I copy the pe-2 folder/file and put it into the forgotten battles?

no...not sure how to move the files etc...didnt wanna hound people tho. no biggie...ill get it figured out.Wasn't sure if you ment all the files had to be moved individually, or just move the whole pe-2 folder into the forgotten battles folder.

Got it working now since Ersk told me about that little french folder that holds the install exe.  Works great.  im a flying!

i also picked up a 404/405 patcher that lets ya switch between 4.04 and 4.05 versions.  I got it from TAW Oilburner, and its 56 megs.....just gotta set it up.  I can maybe upload it if anyone else wants it.

I'll get it this week...  Was in Dallas last Tue-Thur...sick through now, just came back to work today.  Will be in Dallas next Tue through Friday evening...  BF2 plays like shat on my laptop...IL2 works fine...  Will bring my stick so I can fly from the hotel... Regards,TX-Rahman"BLACK 4"

Dang Herr Rah, sorry to hear you are sick. I will probably get the upgrade this weekend as I was on comms with  Herr Monguse last night and asked about it. They thought I was dead or something! Anyway, I have to go to FRY's Sat if I get off in time to pick another vid card to add to the sli board and will load it up when I get back. BTW, VeriZon FioS is finally coming down here. I guess the pressure from T/Warner and ATT finally convinced the powers that control the budget to invest down here. With the growth that we are having down here south of Houston/Clear Lake it would be well worth it to get it in here before they place copper. Well, I've finally signed on.  Just got done installing the dayum'd thang... Glad I read Chukar's suggestion about reading the forums first... but even so, it was a pain in the brain to get this thing installed correctly.  Apparently that pesky Boonty program had changed it's configuration since the guides were posted... but anyway... eventually I figured out how to circumnavigate it, after having to use a small portion of my superior intellect--(if compared to certain species of lab rat).TX-ScubaSteveWhite 4

I check in and HL locks me out with connection closed. I know the deal, gotta have the secret handshake to be in the TX. Is there anything in the wwII retail sim market for us to at least consider? I have been away from the front because it is the same 'ol same 'ol. I didn't get on the wagon train for BF2 and I read I missed out on some fun. Refreshing as FPS looks, I aim with a nose cannon. Is anything in retail for combat combustion engine flight sims? If not then I will patch up and report for reserve duty. Well, after 5 months of almost no on-line Il2, I just spent the last 10 days or so getting back "up-to-speed".I like this 4.05 - Takes some time to get used to, if you have'nt flown much since the 3.00 series.My K:D is 1:1 with my FW's - that's where I like to keep it.  Balance between too conservative and not "pushing the envelope".  In the top of Historia pilots with D9/A6/A9/A5/A5 1.65.Beginning to enjoy early war sorties with 109E4 and E7.  The E-4 in it's time is really fun to fly, don't know why it's taken me so long to discover it.Anyway, the break was good for me.  Longest I've ever took in the sim.I saw a few TX folks on Historia Friday nite.  I'd just gotten in from the airport about 10:00 PM Texas time.  By the time I got online, the server had thinned out.  Sorry I missed you all.Hope your all well......Disorganized as ever and still trying to find some time to have fun.....S~GunBlack 2 TX Flight Leader

....Good to see Ya'll are still here. I got tied up with the "Father Day" thing this weekend and still haven't downloaded the 4.05. And today we had just over 10 inches of rain in my part of town. Too many phones are out and I just have time to take a shower, cook some grub,check my mail, and then perhaps check out some Tube before it's time to hit it again at 0600. I'll try and get it this week sometime if I have the chance. Sure miss flying with Ya'll. I've been doing the COD/UO thing for a while....then COD2(modded)...and then Red Orchestra...with some BF2 thrown in....I'll probably be tail gunning for Herr Kingsnake as I used to have the best luck gunning those that were untrained enough to try and fly close to a bomber before they took a shot!
