Title: FSX Missions Post by: TX-Kingsnake on December 07, 2006, 02:32:07 am The SDK and mission kit for fsX looks complex. Right now I am going through the tutorials and thinking about making a mission. What would it be, a training mission in a Cessna or chase OJ in a news chopper? Or a Redbull pylon race?
What would the reward for goal completion be? Maybe an armadillo? I don't see how a multi-player coop would work for fsX. Which means racing is out. The reward would be to sell a book titled "If I had a newschopper with Hellfires and FFARS".TX-ScubaSteveWhite 4

Extract the heliport folder to the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Missions\Tutorials directory. When you go to missions in the game choose tutorial and choose the heliport mission.Takeoff from KSAN and land on a highrise helipad in the downtown skyline.Mission Link http://members.cox.net/messerschmitt/109/heliport.zip
Title: Re: FSX Missions Post by: TX-ScubaSteve on December 11, 2006, 03:09:32 pm Nice to see an actual third party custom "mission" there, Kingsnake. Seems to work well, except that I could barely hear your voice-overs. I don't know if there's something wrong with my soundcard/speaker configuration... although I can hear voiceovers just fine on the missions that came with FSX. Speaking of having a hard time hearing voice-overs... anyone else have trouble hearing ATC? The volume is much lower than standard mission voiceovers, and I can't find any setting that would raise ATC levels... I suppose I could simlpy lower the volume for everything else, and turn my speakers up...TX-ScubaSteveWhite 4
Title: Re: FSX Missions Post by: TX-Kingsnake on December 11, 2006, 05:13:15 pm I noticed the low levels of audio in the game ATC and the mission I made. I amp'ed the voice overs by %75, and it still sounds low. The helipad mission is simple. I wanted to test a basic mission before making a complex one. Its a good idea to start with something simple at first. The next mission I am working on is a 172 flight with a preflight checklist and VOR navigation. I need to go over the flight with someone to get an opinion and tips on making it realistic.

Title: Re: FSX Missions Post by: TX-Kingsnake on December 14, 2006, 10:11:01 pm Here is the pre-beta of a 172 instrument navigation mission. You can get a look at what I am working on. It is not complete with goals and audio. Please have a look and lets talk about it. Since I don't have the audio recorded you will need the subtitles. To get the text subtitles in fsX go to settings, general, under missions check show captioning. Here is the mission ziphttp://members.cox.net/messerschmitt/a/pre-beta_%20Borrego_To_KMYF.zipUnzip the mission folder Borrego To KMYF into your tutorials dir.It should look like this.C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Missions\Tutorials\Borrego To KMYFStart the mission as Tutorial - IntermediateNow... Who wants to do a voice over?S!TX-Kingsnake
