Title: TX's Post by: GOZR on June 29, 2009, 11:58:31 pm Well is TX's group completely disintegrated? no one is on comms or nowhere to be seen... just ghosts in forum roaming....
What's up ? Title: Re: TX's Post by: TX-Gunslinger on June 30, 2009, 03:33:14 am Well,
Let's see: 1) Still beta testing 2) Trying to get banned at SIMHQ 3) Working many hours a day (I know you don't believe this - as I take a few minutes here and there to post a note or two and sometimes leave the computer logged in to fourms) 4) Eco's away from home for a longer period than normal 5) Mother-in-law needs help (remember she's in my house now) 6) Entertainng business clients 7) Attempting to spend what little time I have alone (remember the Mother-in-law part) with my wife. 8) New roof and car damage from a really bad hailstorm a few months ago 9) Wife's family has been vistiing the Mother-In-Law 10) Trying to keep money flowing so I don't have to lay off anyone in this recession 11) King just got married 12) King reinstalled XP 13) Starting to plan work and surveying my land (70 acres) 72 miles south of where I my house is 14) Trying to spend time talking my middle daughter through her 3rd child 15) Trying to spend time talking to my oldest daughter whose been in Germany for six years - with a husband on a second deployment to that IRAQ craphole 16) Scheduing travel for my Son to visit in August.... Much more - but this would be the small stuff - and I'll bet TB is going through similar things.... There's only a few of us - so when a couple are working on a full plate - it gets quiet here. Thanks for asking though :) S~ Gunny Title: Re: TX's Post by: GOZR on June 30, 2009, 03:52:44 am Yeap ! hard times.. i wont even mention on my side but yeap.. this is why i gave my TV away and sleep late, trying to make the day longer.. Just hold on tight there Gunny :)
Title: Re: TX's Post by: TX-Thunderbolt on June 30, 2009, 10:52:12 am Wife and son have been out of town for 3 weeks and will return on Wednesday...that's tomorrow! WOOT!
In the meantime, I have replaced my mailbox (long story), fixed 2 of my outside hose bibs that were completely broken, fixed a leaking upstairs shower (having to cut access hole in the frikkin ceiling in a downstairs closet) and then fixing THAT by installing a latched access door in the event I need to gain access to it again someday, built my new machine and tweaked it out, rebuilt my old machine for my college-bound son, added some of those displaced parts to my wife's machine (specifically a slot-feed DVD player and an Audigy 2 (non zs) Platinum sc to replace her 7 yo SB live!). All this while overseeing my department's role and playing my part in opening a $500 million dollar hospital wing-expansion under the magnifying glass of financially trying times. I've been flying in the evenings some, but really in an effort to just relax a bit. I deperately want to get RoF back installed (I already DL'd the primary), but the mind power and time to get it all set back up from scratch is more than I'm capable right now. I ordered the retail version as well and will be interested in the side-by-side comparison. Anyway, that's been my life lately. Like Gunny, I dip in and out of the forums throughout the day during small windows of opportunity and because of our internet filters blocking certain sites and content, I can't go to UBI or SimHQ anymore until I get home and cruising the forums then isn't something I've been interested in doing (see above). TB Title: Re: TX's Post by: TX-Gunslinger on June 30, 2009, 12:03:46 pm Earlier post deleted. SIMHQ problem cleared.
Please don't refrain from posting over there - see new statements by administration. Also, please don't use my poor example as one for yourselves.... S~ Gunny Title: Re: TX's Post by: GOZR on June 30, 2009, 01:23:44 pm Well i try ti think lightly and fly a bit or roam in Arma2 .. A very close friend passed away last week.. going tomorrow at the ceremony...
Title: Re: TX's Post by: TX-Gunslinger on June 30, 2009, 05:43:13 pm I'm sorry to hear that your friend passed away.
I did fly last night for about an hour on a ROF (non-beta) server that was near full (off and on). The frame rates, gameplay and company were excellent. I would encourage any of you, if you have the release (non-beta) to grab a server and have some fun. Hunting is great right now because the deer don't have guns yet :) Remember, the command for chat in game is ESC. Heh. . .certainly you know better than that GOZR! ::) But I know what you are really saying. . .you miss flying with your friends! Aww. . .that's sweet! ;D I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. I'm still in Ojai, quite busy, and I've also got a memorial to go to. . .again. :'( Title: Re: TX's Post by: GOZR on June 30, 2009, 06:06:46 pm Yes but here the problem .. there is no servers.. and when there are it's a maximum of 2.. and no indication of pings and all settings are check like simplified FM or gauges and friendly or enemy icons.. can't do that.. ( at list because it's just the start )
They really need to fix or make the server more like IL2 on the Refly button .. you have to wait that the mission finish to join.. That is not serious on a Sim based for Online focus.. It should be a choice. Thank's Gunny Eco .. ;) And sorry for the loss as well.. Title: Re: TX's Post by: TX-Kingsnake on June 30, 2009, 07:36:50 pm They really need to fix or make the server more like IL2 on the Refly button .. you have to wait that the mission finish to join.. Have we mentioned to you that this has been requested repeatedly throughout the beta? It is going to be included in a future patch. Looking back at every year in TX, the summer months were the lowest level of participation. In fact every year right around now through the end of summer you will find nobody is around. Summer is when people have things to do and places to go. In the winter when everyone has a new sim toy you will find a high level of participation. Title: Re: TX's Post by: TX-Kingsnake on June 30, 2009, 07:43:42 pm Here is one on the topic of summer time and people not being around from 2006

Hey TB - I was in a hurry this morning - 500 mil expansion - man!!!! You poor man - my utmost sympathies! I whine about keeping 15 - 20 folks on a payroll and you manage that! Holy moly, no wonder your busy. How do you even find time to breathe? It all makes sense now... Hat's off Gunny Title: Re: TX's Post by: GOZR on June 30, 2009, 11:23:22 pm Yes critical observation skills is a given but people skills not..
Haaa! Eco Pin pointed the good one.. :) But some how it doesn't feel like Summer.. relax summer .... summer vacation .. not this year.. Title: Re: TX's Post by: TX-EcoDragon on June 30, 2009, 11:56:44 pm Hehe. . you guys are funny. . .and GOZR being critical of someone else's people skills. . .well, that's another good one!
;D :P OK, Group hug. Title: Re: TX's Post by: TX-Gunslinger on July 01, 2009, 01:12:02 am Summer?
Bah Humbug! First, it was 106 degrees the other day - only good thing about that temp is you don't have to worry about humidity - there is none :) This time of year in central Texas is the equivalent of January in Maine. This is when we slow down going out of doors past 9:00 AM and before 4:00 PM - they don't call it "siesta" for nothing. Here's my year.... January - Congress is out of session and all the money they allocated for projects is sitting in Civil Servants inboxes. February to May - After much pleading, begging and mild threatening - some of the money is (due in January) finally released so folks can actually start to work on the projects which have been approved. June to July - all the leftover money which expires on Oct 1 (leftover from the previous year) is fought over and fought over and finally released. Remember the main U.S. Government rule "Thou shalt give no money back - for if you do - your future budgets will decrease by the amount that you give back, proving that you are infact, a very poor manager" September - submit budgets to Civil Servants for review...... Hot little office.. So i have two set of big props blowing my little room right now...
Title: Re: TX's Post by: GOZR on July 01, 2009, 01:51:49 am Even too hot to ride on leather .. like a sona
Title: Re: TX's Post by: TX-Chukar on July 01, 2009, 05:40:38 am It’s hot in Berkeley? Dude, talk to hand. Last week my review mirror melted off the window. Even with the house A/C running full blast the upstairs only gets down to 88 on the hot days. And due to the water restrictions, we are only allowed to water our roofs on Thursday evening. It's scorched earth out here man.

Title: Re: TX's Post by: TX-EcoDragon on July 01, 2009, 06:55:30 pm Yeah, I know how you feel GOZR, but I also know that us NorCAl guys really can't complain about heat to a bunch of Texans!!!
Title: Re: TX's Post by: GOZR on July 01, 2009, 11:55:01 pm LOL yeas

TB's Month on Spits by TUSA/Pepper on 04 Jul 2009 17:30 Okay, since no one's said anything about it, I'll take the first step. As a lot of us know, TB was able to fly last month for a considerabe length of time while his family was out of town. Well, in that timeframe, he accomplished a flight record for the month that's up there with Dire. I don't know if it set a WOP record for most kills vs. returned alive, but I'll wager it did. The only other one that it would compete with would be Dire's records. The scoring is a bit different now than when Dire did it, but it's still very similar. As far as I'm concerned, they've both blown the doors off there and are unmatched. Kudos TB for a job very, very well done!!!!! http://www.kapumojo.biz/TUSAFB/index.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=23 |
