Title: Deutsches Museum - Munich, Bavaria Post by: TX-Gunslinger on May 26, 2010, 07:20:00 pm On our way to Frankfurt tommorow, before flying home on Friday. I promised a few pictures. Don't have time to label them - look at the image label in the links, if you don't recognize the pictures.
I'll throw one Canon S90 (great little camera) non-aviation related picture in the front for fun. Much time in Munich and Nurnberg. Incredible cities. Breathtaking. I love being back in Europe! Marienplatz at night (handheld shot!) (https://webspace.utexas.edu/joem/May-2010-Bavaria/MarienPlatz-Night-Dragon-Angel1.JPG) On to the air stuff! Goose bumps at what I'm looking at (https://webspace.utexas.edu/joem/May-2010-Bavaria/In-Awe.JPG) (https://webspace.utexas.edu/joem/May-2010-Bavaria/Bf-109E-Spinner1.JPG) (https://webspace.utexas.edu/joem/May-2010-Bavaria/Bf-109E-JG51-fullfront.JPG) (https://webspace.utexas.edu/joem/May-2010-Bavaria/Bf-109E-OilCooler.JPG) Some of the many Focke-Wulf parts I photographed. Many, many engines - including an Il-2 Sturmoviks'.. Hope you enjoy these! I sure did. Best trip I ever had, in many ways. S! Title: Re: Deutsches Museum - Munich, Bavaria Post by: TX-Kingsnake on May 26, 2010, 10:35:43 pm On to the air stuff! I concur given the choice between bronze cherubs and aircraft. Buildings are rather dull by comparison and they certainly can't fly upsidedown; my new standard by which all things are held to before I am impressed. FOR KINGSNAKE Ahh golly thanks. Four MK108 in the nose ought to do it. BLASTO! These are great pictures from a mechanical era. If you needed a switch it had a mechanical linkage to execute the function. Everything had a physical presence in reality. As always with war machines everything is minimal & pragmatic.
