Title: Warthog Firmware Upgrade
Post by: TX-Chukar on December 12, 2010, 11:22:31 pm
I upgraded the Firmware to revisions 10/18 and I killed it.  The stick responded for a bit and acknowledged a successfully upgrade but it was dead the next day.

This is now a known problem that seems to affect a certain percentage of those upgrading.  It sounds like they have to go back to be re-flashed, so, I wait to hear back from the TM tech support.

Darn, I'm sorry Chukar.  I didn't even know there was a firmware upgrade.  I've been furiously programming.

Thanks for the "trim" routine the other day over at Warthog World.  Good to see you there.  I hope you get it fixed pronto.

I should be done with programming soon, and back to Ghost Skies.  These setups are a major overhaul to what I've been running for years.  I'm trying to create a profile that stays coherent (same basic stick functions) across ROF, Il2 and SOW (since we have the control maps now).

That way you don't have to remember a different set of hats and switches for each sim.

It always takes me a long time to config - but in this case even longer - major overhaul to my profiles.  I want it to be easy to use for folks that have not ever used one of my profiles.

Anyway, let me know how it works out - I'm not touching my firmware yet.

Good luck,

Gunny

I'm almost sorry to report this, but my firmware update was succesfull with no negative effects.

I thought about it for a while and finally decided to go ahead with it.  At least I was man enough to "get in the trenches" with you, Chukar.

Hope you get yours fixed soon,

Gunny

Well glad to hear that yours went smoothly Gunny.   The problem it designed to prevent sounded like it was worth the chance.  I was thinking that maybe I already had the corruption problem and that’s why it failed.   Better now anyway as I am swamped but after Christmas I have some time off so I sure hope to get a chance to convert my GUI file to a script.

Anyway I meant to ask you if you have any trouble with the Target program graphics redrawing itself after another window covers the program.  I do and I haven’t seen anything about that?  More so with the GUI than the Script editor but both are affected.
