Title: Hey Goze/Rah - I know you don't have much time but I have FSX questions Post by: TX-Gunslinger on March 04, 2011, 01:40:51 am Guys,
As you know I don't know squat about FSX. I have a good friend, who is a Navy Executive in real life (Admiral level civilian). He is a pilot and has just succesfully completed his cross country (Cessna). He will transfer overseas in a month or two and asked me if I could help hook him up with a system so that he could practice procedures while away for a couple years. Seems to me that only FSX will fit his requirements and I guess he'd probably need something like a CH control yoke. His main interest would be keeping his procedural skills. Do you guys have any recommendations for: a) hardware b) FSX software and packages? Thanks in advance Gunny Title: Re: Hey Goze/Rah - I know you don't have much time but I have FSX questions Post by: TX-Rahman on March 08, 2011, 11:25:27 am Hardware for FSX should be pretty beefy... We should talk on TS soon...
Software... I would tell him to definitely get one of the Cessnas made by Carenado. They seem to be really good at those aircraft.. It depends on what he wants to do. With payware add ons and VFR scenery it gets really processor intensive. With the stock Cessna and stock scenery even my dual core can run it. The good thing is that FSX is kind of old by now so if he gets a new system that is not top of the line it will run well.

He can afford a pretty high end system. If you have any recommendations for payware scenary or other items please put it here - or link if you have it. Thanks again, Gunny |
