Title: bye money.....Read this Post by: TX-Rahman on January 03, 2003, 01:27:08 pm Guys,
in my endless search for the cockpit information we need, I came across something else that I heard existed but didn't know where it was.... Click on the link... http://www.airaces.com/home.htm (http://"Texas Air Aces") You go to this place in Spring Texas near Houston.....plop down $995 and get training and get to dogfight in a T-34 trainer. They video your flight from 4 angles....you spend around an hour to 1:15 in flight. Spend around 5 hours in all with briefing and debriefing. IF I ONLY HAD CASH!!!!!!!! SHAT SHAT SHAT! Regards, TX-"I wanna do this"Rahman Title: Re: bye money.....Read this Post by: TX-Deck on January 03, 2003, 01:46:41 pm Bloot! Title: Re: bye money.....Read this Post by: TX-EcoDragon on January 03, 2003, 04:00:18 pm Yeah, there are a few FBO's that do this (Fixed Base Operators). Unfortunately a primary wing spar failure of the T-34 Mentor line of aircraft a few years back during one of these air combat programs has resulted in many Airworthiness directories (AD) and ultimately flight restrictions for T-34's making it useless for more than +3.8G/-0G category operations. Now the prices are higher as more exotic aircraft are used.My advice would be to go instead to a conventional FBO where that 995 will get you from 7-10 hours of aerobatic instruction in an aircraft like a Decathlon or Citabria. Which would be plenty of excitment, despite not involving any shooting down of another!! If interested in this option let me know and I can provide teh names of some aerobatic training centers. If you really want to go the air combat way, this is the best: http://www.fightercombat.com/they use Extra 300 series aircraft (awesome capability) but in ArizonaAnother route would be using the Siai-Marchetti SF.260, Italian fighter trainers: http://www.incredible-adventures.com/air_combat.htmlThese ones will be in Dallas, TXFort Worth Meacham Field (FTW) March 28 - 30, 2003 S!TX-EcoDragon
