Title: Rahman, Chukar, and Eco Aerobatic Team!
Post by: TX-EcoDragon on February 17, 2003, 06:33:46 am
Rahman and I climbing in formation, preparing for our show, which no doubt delighted all those fortunate enough to be spawing on our base!! We ran numerous head on passes at 10 feet up, upright, inverted, and knife edge, we also did hammerheads in formation, 8 point hesitation rolls, cubans eights.  .   . and other stuff!!  It was great fun!! hehe

About to turn back for base.

Rah and I tumble over the top of a hammerhead

This was awesome, timed perfectly, and by chance Chukar and I both kicked the same rudder at the same time, but I didnt catch it at the best time with the screenie

Another!!

Rah and I did a low pass at .08 away with him inverted off my left wing

Here Rahman and I do a paired pass with him inverted and me knife edge!

I just wish we had video of it. . .and perhaps someone else to get screenies from the gound!

Fun with PE-8's!For the uninitiated, asking rahman to tighten formation is never required! Here I was flying along from F8 view. . when all of the sudden  look what I see. . . I actually shouted "holy S#$%T!"" Formed With Zen on an IL-2 3M runI have to say one of my favorite missions is the Nightime Thunderstorm!!!!! It is especially good for bomber sneak attacks! Now this is a pretty unique shot, I was shot down by Rbstr in his Me262 and shortly after I bailed out one of my gunners decided he wanted me dead, I guess they weren't fond of my flying style!!!S!TX-EcoDragonCurrent mount: P-39 Q10Favorite Plane: BF109-G6A/Sand a bandit on my 6Most feared/resented FB addition: LA-7Characteristic noise during dive as reported by a third party witness: GGGGRRRRRRRBBBBBRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWK!!!

I think I might actually want to find a few other people who like this stuff, and actually set up some semi-formal practice sessions, and maybe make a map with some visual waypoints so that we can coordinate our inbound and outbound legs All those interested make your voices heard!!S!TX-EcoDragonCurrent mount: P-39 Q10Favorite Plane: BF109-G6A/Sand a bandit on my 6Most feared/resented FB addition: LA-7Characteristic noise during dive as reported by a third party witness: GGGGRRRRRRRBBBBBRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWK!!!

I'll fly the slot,so as to not have to look left or right to keep my bearings, lol, and to finally have a clear shot on Eco !! lmao I'll really fly slot though Eco, ive always loved the aerobatic aspect of planes as well. I've seen the footage of the first -80 (707) do barrel rolls at a the inagural presentation to Boeing execs and builders alike  !!!  Anyways, im off to the great blue yonder !!!!!!!!!TX-TornadoBlue IIITX Squadron TOB~

Speaking of Bombers. . . take a look at what we will be getting "by the first patch" for FB!http://www.flugzeugwerk.net/Projects.htmohhhh. .  its nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Now I just hope that my P-51 comes in that same patch so that it can be properly escorted!!S!TX-FutureP-51PilotDragonCurrent mount: P-39 Q10Favorite Plane: BF109-G6A/Sand a bandit on my 6Most feared/resented FB addition: LA-7Characteristic noise during dive as reported by a third party witness: GGGGRRRRRRRBBBBBRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWK!!!

Please state if you would rather see an aerobatics (and perhaps racing) skin based directly on TX skins, or a completely unique skin, possibly in a scheme drawn from real world aerobatics aircraft such as Chukar's Thunderbird skin? (well. . or R/C as in these instances) such as this Sukhoithis pittsor this CAP 232or maybe adding something to the current TX skins(hide your eyes Zen Deck and Rahman) that leaves them cleary TX, but clearly sport orientedThese are by no means the schemes I am proposing, they are there just to give examples of a couple possible types. The real question is, new skin, or modified. . . and if a new skin, what style??S!TX-EcoDragonCurrent mount: P-39 Q10Favorite Plane: BF109-G6A/Sand a bandit on my 6Most feared/resented FB addition: LA-7Characteristic noise during dive as reported by a third party witness: GGGGRRRRRRRBBBBBRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWK!!!

Oh, or maybe like this Extra 300, a tribute to the biochemistry major who finds little use for sleep, and needs the fuel of an energy drink!I guess we just need to decide on a good corporate sponsor!! lolCurrent mount: P-39 Q10Favorite Plane: BF109-G6A/Sand a bandit on my 6Most feared/resented FB addition: LA-7Characteristic noise during dive as reported by a third party witness: GGGGRRRRRRRBBBBBRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWK!!!

Hey ED,             I think we would look very sleek in some new bright skins like other aerobatic teams.  Maybe we could have the TX logo on the tail and along with other sponsor names have "TX-Squadron" spelled out on the plane also??  Guess we need a name for the team also.... Emu,HOLY COW!I didn't think there was much room for growth in our TX combat skin, it feels to me rather a specialized design, but in this case you have opened my eyes. The lightning bolts look amazing on the skin, I am at a loss for words. Love it, looks great. You did some very tight work there (I have no idea what you were so worried about lol) and thats something to be proud of. As for my official opinion on racing skins, I say have at it. Just for the record I highly encourage you guys to come up with whatever you think looks good, I don't feel it is my place to have any more input than anyone else in this matter. Part of what we do in TX is try and build comraderie and esprit de cor and creating skins (as we have done with our combat skin) is an integral part of that. As most of you know I have never been very into the racing aspect of IL2, but understand that I encourage it wholeheartedly and on the rare occasions I do race, I will be proud to fly whatever skin or skins you guys create. I don't think this is a big issue, but if for some reason you do have lurking doubts about what I think or what I will say, clear them out. I am quite pleased with TX for pursuing the racing theme and want us to have a solid aerobatics team with great skins. TX-ZenBlack 6TX Squadron CO

I think I tend to lean towards our racing/aerobatics skins being more in line with modern, sponsored aircraft of today. I am also one of those people who likes to fly as rare bear or Dago Red (and you bet your last drop of AvGas that when the P-51 is out that is just what I will do. . at least when on my own!!) so please make your voices heard. . . the majority of the race fans in TX have not replied to this.P.S. to Zen: I am glad that you liked it!! I know the pride ya'all have in your excelent work. . . so I was feeling arprehensive about doing that to it!! S!TX-EcoDragon

And if were going to do this under the TX name and image , i believe Texas and TX should be well represented by a BIG OLE FLAG or state with flag colors on the under side , maybe cover the whole underside, with the state red white and blue colors on the side , via t-birds or sumpthin, but definately TX representing !!!S~TX-TornadoBadd Azz Blue 3B~
