I love that bird. . .but sometimes I really have to fight with her. . I try to convince her that she's no lap dog anymore. . .and that she has just grown too big. . but she ignores me. . . leaps onto me with a thud and just slobbers and acts cute and innocent while blocking my view of the TVOld dog new tricks I guessS!TX-EcoDragonCurrent mount: P-39 Q10Favorite Plane: BF109-G6A/Sand a bandit on my 6Most feared/resented FB addition: LA-7Characteristic noise during dive as reported by a third party witness: GGGGRRRRRRRBBBBBRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWK!!!

Title: Re: Something on my back Post by: TX-Chukar on March 13, 2003, 01:38:24 pm That is why we have seat belt laws, buckel up next time!Thats another thing that has always scared me about small planes; I am always afraid that when banking real hard that I am going to fall out the those stupid cheap doors!TX-ChukarBlue 1
Title: Re: Something on my back Post by: TX-EcoDragon on March 13, 2003, 03:37:17 pm I like the stupid cheap doors. . . the thought of an emergency eggress from a light plane, after an emergency landing (may have tweaked the airframe), is a little better knowing I can kick the doors and windows off! (not to mention that G forces act in greater magnitude in turns such that you will not fall towards teh ground anyway, I recently flew with an examiner who would place a (empty) beverage cup on the top of the panel while I did my maneuvers, he asked if I had "heard of those DMV examiners from hell" and said that he was the "designated pilot examiner from hell" (he was actually great fun!). The point was to maintain continuous and smooth control inputs, as well as coordinated flight in rapid transitions between steep sturns (lotsa rudder needed on steep turn entry and exit) the maneuver looks something like our combat scissors. . . and the cup of course should remain where it is.S!TX-EcoDragonCurrent mount: P-39 Q10Favorite Plane: BF109-G6A/Sand a bandit on my 6Most feared/resented FB addition: LA-7Characteristic noise during dive as reported by a third party witness: GGGGRRRRRRRBBBBBRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWK!!!
