Thats pretty neat, especially the staffel weathered numbers. If I'm reading the description correctly, it appears that if you select squadron 4 in the arming screen it will use these numbers instead of the ones FB puts on the skin. Seems logical, but I wonder if it actually works that way?TX-ZenBlack 6TX Squadron CO

Hi guys,Thanks for the comments, yes, you are reading it right TX-ZEN.If you need any assistance in setting it up here's a link to a post on SimHQ where I gave a chap step-by-step instructions on setting up Il-2MAT and my files.http://www.simhq.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=35;t=020184Cheers and regardsAces JG123Aces High JG123 (123_Aces_JG123 on Hyperlobby)IL2-MAT and Artwork Downloadswww.leigh-kemp.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/PS. quick edit : If you are refferring to the substitution of the ground attack weathered lettering and "Schlacht" gruppe symbols these appear when the 4th "Gruppe" is selected rather than the 4th squadron. eg. 4th Gruppe squadrons 1-4 (different coloured lettering)The substitute weathered numbers appear on squadrons 1-4 in gruppes 1-3 for the ground attack aircraft and on all squadrons in all gruppes on the purely fighter aircraft.I did things this way so that you'd have a choice of  numbers + gruppe 1-3 symbols and letters + schlacht gruppe symbol on dual-purpose fighter/bomber aircraft such as the Fw190s.S! S~ Aces, Very nice of you to stop by and thanks for the additional information.  I'd like to compliment you on this work, it has some very interesting applications. Well done!I'd also like to ask a question if I may. Would it be possible for you to customize any of this for TX Squadron?I ask because the way the game adds callsigns can be counter to what our squad callsigns actually are. For example, I'm squadron 2, callsign 6 (black6) but if I fly an early FW, I'm Red 6. If I fly an IL2 I'm ZZ+AK or some such. Do you know a way to manipulate the numbering scheme to overcome that, so that I for example would always have black 6 on the plane and black 6 in the Icon over my plane as well?I'm very interested to hear your response on this, looking forward to getting to know you better as well. Thanks again very much for posting on the site,S!TX-ZenBlack 6TX Squadron CO

Hi TX-Zen,Thanks for your message on my site, very nice to hear from you.I have done a bit of investigating this morning and, unfortunately, what I believe that you require isn't possible. IL-FB has it's information regarding staffel colours coded into the game. Editable files containing any refference to squadron colours wording used in missions plane selection screens and for icons doesn't seem to exist. As you know, using Il-MAT and my "substitute" coloured numbers/letters etc. FB doesn't know anything about this and therefore uses "red" in it's wording as the 2nd staffel colour numbers supplied with the game are, unfortunately, of that colour. I'm sure that you are aware that FB picks up the "ZZ" bit from the text file (without a file extension) with a matching name to your regiment emblem and this you can edit but it's a common prefix so changind it to "06" would affect all planes in this regiment. I'll give matters more thought as I think this would be a neat idea. In the mean time, if you have any questions or requests please drop me a message on my site and I'll see what I can do.Regards and best wishesAces JG123Aces High JG123 (123_Aces_JG123 on Hyperlobby)IL2-MAT and Artwork Downloadswww.leigh-kemp.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/
