Hey Eco,                 You and KingSnake flying in?  (hehe...kiddin of course...I know this would be expensive!!) Q.  Can I fly in with my own aircraft?A.  Yes. Private aircraft are welcome to fly to the show. An FAA temporary tower will be in operation the two days of the air show. Please check NOTAMS and plan to arrive early and stay late. GLS will be closed to arrivals and departures during much of the day. GA aircraft will park to the south of the museum ramp, near the GLS terminal. Sounds like fun, but it's one heck of a trip for me to make, living in So.Fla. and all. I know you guys will have a great time. BTW, I'm planning a trip to Wash. DC when the new Air and Space Museum opens up at Dulles international. It will probably be in Dec.or Jan.

I MIGHT be able to make this on the Sunday date.   Saturday is already out for me.  I think this would be a hoot.TX-Deck out.

This kinda stuff cracks me up...I got a big kick out of meeting everybody that day too, all we really had to go on were voices from comms at the time.  It was fun to meet in person and put faces to names.   What is really cool is now when someone in the picture talks, I immediately can picture what they look like.Ever read a Star Wars book?    Just try telling me you cannot read one and not assign Mark Hamil to Luke, Carrie Fisher to Leia, or Harrison Ford to Han Solo....I shall immediately come up with a list of celebrities to assign to the remaining unknown faces in TX.    Put your bid in now or forever be pinned to my celeb of choice!  (and YES, that could be scary):)TX-Deck out.

S~Well , I knew Id be off by a couple. Yea , this is the funniest thing is that all you have to go on is a voice , and sometimes the face can be a surprise.Just to give you a clue then , many people have said that I could be a double for Nicholas Cage in looks and build. Tornado , I would go in a heartbeat , but living just north of Wash DC like I dowould make it difficult for me to get there. I wouldnt mind splitting the rental and flighttime of a kingair or something if a few of us were east coast and wanted to do it , but otherwise maybe next year for me. ...just came down out of a co-workers bucket truck after having the hair on the back of my neck stand up!!...Not from stray voltage but from hearing that beautiful sound and vibration caused by the B-26 that flew directly overhead at about 500ft with the engines cranked up pretty good!!..It was awesome!!...She was doing some low level turns back and forth directly over the town I was working in and vibrating everything with those engines....B~Rocky...TX-CUDA on UBITX-CUDA on HyperLobby

Well, as my good fortune always has it, I wont be making the trip !!!  :(   The old beater blew a head gasket whilst returning home from the Ft. Worth Zoo with nephews and all. Spent 2hrs on the side of the road waiting in the warm Texas sun waiting for some courteous citizen of this great state stop and give us a ride to te nearest phone. Needles to say the Zoo was great, everything eles up until this post sucked major arse. TX-Cuda got some un this afternoon as he and CudaJr along with TX-Rahman and his wife enjoyed the vintage AC that were at the airshow in Galveston. Rahman got some good video of my flight crew readying and then starting up both my B-17 as well as well as the P-47,P-40,and the Hurricane. The P-39 that Eco was trying to get off the ground did get the engine up and running but was not able to get airborne as there was a problem with the nose wheel and she couldn't taxi.Maybe next time Eco!..it was a pretty good show and had a good time..Film at 11:00......B~Rocky...TX-CUDA on UBITX-CUDA on HyperLobby
