Rise of Flight & WWI Aerial Combat / RoF Troubleshooting & Tweaking / Re: ROF/BOS Key Command Modifiers

Not quite. The issue with the modifiers not being recognized has a work around. A guy on Sim HQ had a post related to this issue when using ARMA II. He wrote the command in his TMC as MapKey(&Joystick, S1, CHAIN(DOWN+L_SHIFT, D(50), PULSE+'A'_lock, UP+L_SHIFT));
I verified that it does work. This method would do away with your (TTM) macro file unless you remove all modifiers from it.
The other issue with the shift key (traditionally S3) as an I/O layering function doesn't seem to work at all. However the UMD layering functionality seems to work ok.

Rise of Flight & WWI Aerial Combat / RoF Troubleshooting & Tweaking / ROF/BOS Key Command Modifiers

Is anyboy else had a problem with ROF and now BOS with with some commands using the a Shft, Alt or Ctrl modifilers. For me when I use a script file with the TM warthog I usually generate two commands. Example, the guages are assigned as Shft+I, and icons are just I. In game when I hit the button to toggle guages i also get an icons toggle. I don't think this is a TM thing because every other sim has worked perfectly. Tested this repeatly outside of ROF and the stick is generating the right keys in the right sequence. I have only seen this problem in ROF and BOS and both use the same game engine.
ROF would be easy enough to work around becase there are fewer commands needed but BOS will be a real problem for me if I cant program modifiers into the script.

No worries on the Blenheim, Gunny. I looked at the forums later and found where a few guys did get them off the ground but it’s more like reaching the 12th level of some quest than a flight sim. I am sure they will correct it with a patch some day. It’s just frustrating poking around in a new game with no real manual where you can’t tell if you’re doing something wrong or is it another bug. I just hate wasting time like that.

I wasted 2hr's last night trying to get that stupid Blenheim off the ground only to realize that its bugged so don't waste your time trying. I know there a still a lot of bugs in it but not being able to take off in one aircraft is really disappointing.
Question though on Carburetor Heat applications. Correct me if I am wrong but I thought it was only used as an anti-icing measure. But in the game all the start up procedures seem to start with carb heat to max?

Il2:Cliffs of Dover (Formerly SOW:BOB) / CoD Technical / Verifying COD Files Through Steam

I thought this deserved its own post so I am re-posting Gunny's remarks with a more appropriate title. Chukar had a very interesting problem. To fix it we ended up:
1. going to Steam "Library" - right mouse clicking "Il-2 Sturmovik:Cliffs of Dover" and selecting properties.
2. After the properties window comes up - then select the tab "LOCAL FILES"
3. Finally select "VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE..."
Chukar found that he was missing a file - which the Steam routine replaced and then "presto" - it all worked.

Well this is friggin weird. When I spawn in it appears that may gear is up so when I start my engines my prop blades actually pull me around in a circle until they either flip the plane or break the prop. Same results on two servers including the Syndicate.
Also it appears that the mouse clicks do activate cockpit buttons but there is no visual change to any buttons or levers. This crap ain't in the Manual they leaked. I don't even get visuals of gear or flap changes. I am set with CEM with everthing checked for full realism.
