1  IL2 Community / IL2 Announcements / Where ya'll been? on: April 03, 2004, 11:37:06 pm
I've been flying with SparX when I have the chance to fly which isnt very often, but I have noticed a total lack of TX guys on Hyperlobby, and was wondering what was going on.
I usually always see 2 or 3 of you guys, but not in a while. COD distractions?? hehehe  I bought  Battlefield Vietnam, but it sucks  yet another 40 dollar beer coaster. I bought FarCry too  which is AWESOME  I mean AWESOME, that is if you have a half way decent PC to run it on, the GFX are stunning   you have to see it to beleive it. I would reccomend it.

Well  gotta run  just thought I'd say howdy fellas

Cuda  might I suggest you run a PRM mod that allocates sniper rifles to only 2 or so on each team?

~S to you SpaRX  you've become a great friend of ours, and in the past  were supportive of our needs when the TX OC3 was down. You host a fantastic server, and do a great job on missions and such. I don't think you will have a hard time keeping the server going.

There were tons of benchmarks when I bought my Asylum 5900 128 MBI had the 256 MB version but had constant troubles with it, so I returned it and got the 128. suprisingly enough the 128 is just as fast until you exceed  1600x1200 resolution, I am definately looking forward to trying my 5900 out on a new 8x motherboard too.

Looks like a good deal, but take the time to research that companyI know alot of companies manage low low prices because they use slower memory therefore reducing the cost enough to sell at what appears to be blowout pricesjust a heads up it may be a great card~STX-RaptorGreen 1

Mp44 Stg44 SturmGewehr (Storm Rifle aka Assault)Caliber is 7.92x31 Kurz (short) I may be off on the later portion of the Caliberbeen awhile since I studied it Supposedly a fairly potent short range weapon, and of course boasted 30 rounds per mag which is alot of firepower in WWII.More interesting of a weapon is the FG 42 which was a JACKHAMMER, and a direct competitor to the Browning B A R 30-06 again plagued by alot of recoil but a potent weapon none the less.IMHO COD has the weirdest glitchy sounding machine guns of any gameexcept the MG42 which is spot on, and taken from a movie im almost certain of that. When I worked on the QuakeIII Urban Terror mod team I remember a coder once telling me that the QuakeIII engine was only capable of calculating 10 projectiles per second, and im thinking that may be the reason for the strange machine gun firing rate effect, a good solution would have been to create a double tap wavfile the would essentially play two shots per calculatedshot with a single shot sound for the begining and ending of the players firing sequence, perhaps Ill make a mod for this  I dunno if I want to do it or not though because its fairly time consuming.

1: My health and my Family's health (may it continue un-obstructed)2: My Job although I hate it it pays well and provides my family with a very good life which makes it worth it.3: My daughters whom both give me plenty of reasons to be proud4: My wife for standing by me through all the tough times in the past 12 yearsand never once faltering, or giving up on me.5: GOD for helping me through all those tough times, and for helping me out with all the above things that im thankful for, and probably do not deserve6: My MOM and DAD, and grandparents7: All of you guys that I fly with, you have managed to notch out alittle section of this game that seems to retain some sense of decency and honorand I will always appreciate that.

You could do the same thing with the mouse if you wanted to do it ( I think)what people dont mention is how un beleivably tough and sensitive the control is. I think it was an attempt  by natural point to make the range of motion better. with trackIR is performs better if you slow your mouse down, but you lost tons of range, this I beleive is the by product, and hardly compares to the advantages and enhanced situational awareness of externals. I can't stand externals, but I go with the flow.  I do not think that any hardware should provide it's consumers with advantages over those who dont have it or at least extreme advatagesbut lets face it theres nothing we can do about that Tongue pople have better controllers etc etc etc  trackIR is neat and allows me to follow a target through maneuvers which is awesome (like padlock) and heightens my immersion into the game, and thats why I bought it.The thing I hate about the externals is some dweeb can fly all day long watching his  6 low 6 highhis 345 789 oclocks all at once which ruins trying to sneak up on him   I only use my TrackIR 50% of the time anyway, even with locked cockpits

wasx )!@$(*!@$!@$!@ a FX 5900 Ultra??  by chance were you constantly getting the  Power Sentinel is reducing clock speed due to insufficient power??thats what my FX590 Ultra did, I got ticked off and returned it to best buy and got a regular FX5900 128 MB card and havent had a problem yet.     Call of Duty is going to rock thats for sure, and I love the fact that you have to aim your weapon to be accurate
