Maybe i'll ask this here.. I cant find my favorite server anywhere! Is the OC3 still running? i can't find it on HL, the IP above times out. I cant find any posts stating its gone either

Figured i would bump this up to say hi even though noone remembers me. Havent played IL2 for about 6 months to a year, gonna jump back into it now that im home from campus .Nice to see the TX server is still up and running, i was so happy when you guys 1st put it up

Is anyone else having trouble finding the server lately? For the past week or so i cannot find the server on HL, or Ubi. Or ASE. Usualy, no matter where you hosted from, HL, or ubi, i could ALWAYs see the OC3 through ASE, as long as i had the ip. Now, it never responds, and when i force a connect, it cant find it. The Ip i'm using is 69.41.232.178, is this correct?

 

Well, i know Bomblast usually flies the 109K-4 alot, but i've got some sad news for you buddy.... In patch 1.1 Final, there is a big, big bug. The K4's rudder does not work. it simply doesnt work, wont move an inch. I have no idea how this happened.

 

Yeah, they are very cool, maybe if there was only 1 or maybe 2-3 MAX for the airfeilds, but right now there is an insane amount.

OK, the serach lights, are very pretty, and very cool, but i think they need to go. They seem to lag the server very, very bad. I went around and destroyed them earlier today and the lag improved greatly for everyone.

 

Well, i used to vote for externals on.. just so i could take a break every once and a while and watch the battle... but the more i play with externals off, the more i like it. No more diving down in my A8 to bounce some yak and he ganks the stick and messes my perfect shot, because he saw me coming in externals. As to aiming, somtimes i use normal veiw, sometimes the zoomed, but i just use dead reckoning for my leading, and it usually works. i like to pride my self on my aiming, although it isnt that good, its alot better than the spray and pray some people use. Remember- You always have to lead them 2x more than you think you should- i have livedbby that and it has served me well. Also, i too am looking into trackIr. it's really expensive for me, but when i save up enough i'm going to get it, because if i buy it from natural point, i can always send it back within 30 days.

Well said Zen. As i said before, I hate using external views when i'm actually flying. But it's fun to look around and see how much dammage you did after you got shot down, or to watch the fight after you die. Gives us not-so-hardcore flyers a little break. I can understand your veiws, because Superman veiw IS annoying, but alot of people like externals, because they dont give THAT much advantage, and are alot of fun.

Hey Zen!! Good to see you back! You might wanna try the later 190 A's, they are a little bit more stable, but the A4 is very nice too. You'll love the patch, the 190 is a lot better, its High-speed elevator is fixed, as is the Mk108 and hte Mg151/20 20mm cannon! I cant wait for the patch!

Well, since externals are off, looks like no more BF110's or Fw189's for me =(

=p It bugs out every time i try and run it, and even when it does work, my firewall goes berserk and gets spammed with port scans for about 5 minutes everytime i connect.

HL isnt shutting down, they got hacked while Jiri was on vacation. I use HL all the time, and i like it because its very conviniet for me. I find a bunch of good games on there, although there are bad apples, as you have mentioned.

Anyone wanna tell me what the IP of the OC3 Is?? I really miss playing with you guys, but the server doesnt show up in ASE or HyperLobby, and there is no way in heck i'm installing ubi.com software.

 

I vote Externals on. I Like to take a break every few minutes, and watch people fly. Its very enjoying, and sometimes you can LEARN stuff. But i NEVER fly with it, i mean, its insane to me. How can you gun or manuver like that?
