....sure would not want to be onboard this aircraft if the fuel state is very low and it's in hostile territory. Not to mention the damage that was probably done to the main rotors!....

Is this a refueling basket that breaks loose and hits the glass then the rotor?? The video isn't working? My friend is the owner and cheif cinematographer of an aeronautic pictures company as was onboard and filming during just such an event. . . pretty exciting. . .S!TX-EcoDragonBlack 1TX-Squadron XO

....sorry for the link not working for some reason. What the video showed was a CH-53 doing the inflight re-fueling with his probe extended and trying to hit the basket out of the 130....either the plane was losing alt or something else went very wrong as the basket lowers pretty quick..the helo pilot follows it and then overcompensates by pulling back on his collective...remember the boom is extended so when he raises the nose of the helo the outer third of the boom enters his rotor arc and separates....He's lucky it didn't waste a blade right there and send them down....TX-CudaMinister of Information

Same helicopter type. . .different problem. . and this is much worse!! Jeez. . . guys who correct like that usually don't get to their solo in a 150. . .let alone in-flight re-fueling! Also, It seems like you would use collective if you need to make a height change instead of all that cyclic. . . but what do I know. S!TX-EcoDragonBlack 1TX-Squadron XO
