Ahhh...ok wow.  I'm pretty sure I read forums with multiple people that had 12GB that clocked up to 4ghz without issues. (I'm hoping I remember correctly at least) 4Ghz is all I'm trying to achieve.

Will know soon enough...the drives just arrived here at my desk!!  Shocked

Yeah, I think Gozr is right.  Something about using more slots equals more voltage pulled from the bridge.  But like I said I have never done or know of anybody that had, just read some stuff way back.  It maybe just a minor difference if anything but I didn't want you to think you got a bad cpu or something when comparing to 6g rigs.

Best of luck.

I appreciate the heads up Chukar!  Will keep you guys abreast of my progress.

More slots?  I read that using three slots was the way to get the most performance while over clocking.  Still using only three slots, just 4GB per slot instead of 2GB.

On an up note:  Shocked
These arrived today! Wink  They're mounted in the removable trays in the Sniper case now.  Still much work to be done...wiring etc.

As far as that memory goes your fine, and have an optimal config.  Back in the old days the 4 gig sticks were not easy to get so they filled up both banks A/B with 2 gigers ( 6 Slots ).   Using the 6 slots is were the load problems occurred so you shouldn't have to worry.

Yes agreed, also you wouldn't want to go beyond 4 GHZ on a 920 24/7 with summer coming up even at 3.8 you'll be very happy.. TB as one as a 920 around 3.8 you should ask him if you want to compare settings in case.
