"Frankfurt Tower... Frankfurt Tower?!""Wolfgang, go outside and polish your bicycle!"Nice to see the FS folks not taking themselves so seriously...  but how "realistic" is it going to be with everyone talking to ATC like it's the CB channel 19?  One thing nice about VATSIM--at least controllers are certified to a certain level of standards.Oh well, I shall have to rush out and buy this sim, and Battlefield 2142 as soon as I can possibly do so... Smiley  Although I wonder if I shall have to spend much more money on my system to notice any improvement from the current versions... Ah well...  the curse of being a gaming PC owner...TX-ScubaSteveWhite 4

Yeah, for ATC I think VATSIM is the way to go (if only we could get more controllers, and decent ones), but what I think is particularly cool about this version, and which that video fails to really highlight is the potential that FSX seems to have for both instructional flights as well as Captain and First officer Crew for aircraft and operations that up untill now have been single pilot (in many instances that's not all that realistic). But how cool will it be to have DUAL instruction, with a CFI right seat and student in the left seat? Most of the communications and behaviour in that video would get people banned from VATSIM, but I guess the joke aspect, coupled with the fact that most people wouldn't really be up for the level of detail in VATSIM I guess it's a good compromise for the gamer crew that finds MSFS and otherwise boring endeavor (because they don't wanna bother learning to do it right).Flight Sim ground school can now be TX Flight Training Academy!S!TX-EcoDragonBlack 1TX-Squadron XO

I was talking on MetroAir's TS server to one of the other pilots last night about charts and all and he was amazed that I was actually "flying by the instruments".  I guess a good bit of folks flying in virtual airlines simply use GPS or an aid like FSNavigator.  He was definately interested in learning more about reading charts and learning how to fly by the instruments as well.He turned me onto www.simroutes.com which you can search for the VatSim preferred routes.  So....from now on I'll be filing my flight plans with these routes as not to piss off an ATC.  (I'm already know I'm a n00b...don't wanna get yelled at for being one.)Thanks for all your help with reading charts/approach plates etc. Eco!  Actually knowing this information makes flying easier, and I feel like I know a tiny microscopic something about instrument flying.  I would still love to learn more about radials, STARS and more...Regards,TX-Rahman"BLACK 4"
