I've had X-Plane on my machine as for something like 19 years now. This looks a bit better than what I've got in my XP8 install though, that's for sure.

Give me more of a rundown, if you can - Eco....

- What does it do that FSX doesn't?

- Is it the procedural that it shines in?
or

- The Flight model......

Thanks,

Interested

It's very similar in many ways, it will do the same sort of stuff, and for many users, they really are OK with just one or the other.
I need to try version 10 to really compare them nowadays.

That said, the big difference for me historically is that X-Plane uses a flight model that acts like a digital wind tunnel. Unlike most sims that just use a lookup table where the FM is totally independent of the aircraft structure, when you build an airplane in X-Plane, you assign weights to components, airfoils, surface drag, etc etc etc such that you get a somewhat better flight model than you will find in the MSFS series of sims, especially if the builder of the airplane doesn't really know the way the real airplane handles. In MSFS you could make a fire hydrant fly, and it would fly just like an F-18 if you assigned it the F-18 air file! X-Plane is actually used in some flight test evaluations of real world aircraft while they are being designed.

Sounds like a better sim for those that value Physics.

Added to my list.

Since Lockheed Martin took over FSX - this sounds far more like the thing for me.

Thanks
