....hey Ya'll, just wanted to get back on here and {re} introduce myself. Have seen some of Ya'll on Facebook and there are many new faces I am not familiar with. I am know here as TX-Cuda..."Galveston FPScheats" on FB, and just plain old Rocky to those that know me. Have been around here since dirt...haven't flown any sims since forever, and really need to blow the dust off the joystick here on the desk and get back into it.
Used to work for GTE/Verizon and retired after 33yrs. Just couldn't take it any more when the operations were being run from New Jersey and not Texas when Verizon took over GTE. The money was right so now live the life of fishing whenever I want to...wherever I want to...and chasing tail.
My son Eric that some of you met back years ago when we hit the CAF Airshow at Ellington in Houston is now 20yrs old! Sadly, he is a "console kiddie"....but may come around one of these days. Heck, that was when it was still called "The Confederate Airforce"!!

.....at any rate, glad to hook back up with the group, and am looking forward to doing some flying again. The box here ought to handle any of the new sims I hope. i7 975 Extreme with twin Nvidea GTX 680's. Built it a few years ago, but is holding up well with the new vid cards added recently.

Glad to be back!

I didn't realize that people could unbind a specific module from their account and exchange or sell them, but apparently it is possible!

Here's one such example: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=93540&highlight=selling+DCS

Maybe someone will want to sell their Huey license!

Until 1918 the French were the Huns of Western Europe. Seriously, for all the ink spilled giving the Germans a hard time, their reputation for bloodthirstiness really only goes back to just before the beginning of the 20th Century. France had been the spawning ground of killers since the days of Charles Martel.

The French armies fought in more wars, took more ground, killed, looted, raped, and burned their way across Europe from medieval times up until the middle of the 19th Century. Until then if you were looking for a good place to get killed, for a jolly little war to fight in, there was probably a Frenchman involved in it, too. Frenchmen were the Beasts of Europe for hundreds of years. Until Verdun.Verdun, and other places like it, but because of the sheer grim uselessness of it Verdun was what Frenchmen and women thought of when they thought of the hideous killing ground that their northeastern frontiers had been for four long years.

Up until then the notion of war had had something of adventure, of attraction, of glory and honor and excitement to it.

After Verdun it was all hell.
