Wow - you know what Todd?
Since the mission builder is so similar to Il2 - I'll bet I could resurrect those incredible training coop's (with a bit of editing) - buy modifying those old files of yours.
I have them somewhere........

Few more thoughts - this is the result I think of an unfinished product. I believe that they were going in that direction but never got there.
I remember it too me forever to figure out that the user.ini was only used to store weapons presets because whatever I named a preset - I couldn't find a file. For a while I was afraid it was stored in a binary file..... thank God for small favors... S! Gunny |

That is the "gun" profile.......
There's: conf.ini confUser.ini user.ini conf.ini and xxxxx.ini - user settings for controls - which are also carried in confUser when you load them The user.ini is the ammunition file. AFAIK there is no way to independently save the ammo/bombs/etc to any file except user.ini My user.ini file has never had anything in it but the ammo/conf/bomb things. Make sense? Thanks Gunny |

I'm talking out me ass but?
Can't you save that as a Gun profile, (Gunny Guns) then share that file as a preset? Then we can just load it when in the load out screen? So we don't actually re-write the user file completely? |

Now that the sim is stable, mostly fixed and being developed by Team Fusion over at ATAG - it's time to add a tip that will significantly improve damage, particularly in .303 armed aircraft.
CoD gave us the remarkable and often begged for loadout control for ammunition types and individual gun pair convergence. Unfortunatley, 1C implemented the controls BACKWARDS. Much like RoF's stupid 'reverse wind' - if you don't know this - you can end up in very frustrating situations. The user.config file in the Documents/1C Softclub/il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover (or il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover - MOD) folder holds a file named user.ini In this file is the record of ammunition/convergence assignments you have made to individual aircraft. To save you the significant amount of time it takes to create this from scratch - here's the contents of my user.ini file (thankfully I just found it). Cut and paste into your user.ini file with notepad or some other begnign text editor: --------------------------------contents below this line----------------------------------------------- Currently under review, testing and reconstruction - hegykc's best setting for CoD Hurricane and Spitfires with Gunsight set to 160-170 yards is: Gun Vert Horiz 1/8----121----109 2/7----100----107 3/6----153----200 4/5----241----205 I intend to convert these values to 185 yards gunsight setting to match RAF Gunnery Manual that TOAD also has done work with. -----------------------------------end - do not put this line in your config - use contents above this line-------------------------- Enjoy! Sweeten to taste. Edited by selecting individual aircraft and modifying their loadout in SINGLE PLAYER. |

This is a great update. Some areas - G-stress damage is an example - were introduced with fairly simple models/routines to get them off the ground. Their 2nd update is meant to refine some of the features that were lacking/lost in CoD development disfunction.
IvanK: "This is our first go with Overload modelling it will develop and become more sophisticated" Netcode has been totally overhauled. We have the makings of a great WW II sim here - we always did. Now that the baseline code has been abandoned - this may just come true. As far as performance on older and newer systems - Kingsnake and I have never had a lot of trouble running this sim. His experience is testament to the fact that if you put in the time to understand and configure the code you'll reap the rewards. Two threads on optimization that have worked well for me (remember I'm on Nividea this time), are: http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?p=496020#post496020 this DirectX (which should work on all systems) trick which I tested last night - http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1806 S!
