Howdy boys , apologies for being away so long, but check this out, DEY and LW are having a multi squad get together sunday for some freindly scrim type scenario, they need 15 man teams , i dont think LW or TX can put together 15 for the event, so you fellers being extended family and all, I figured we could combine arms, tactics, and beer lol, and have a blast doing it. Heres the run as handed to us by DEY. Heres his post to the LW site.

Hi guys, sorry there hasn't been any news on this until now. I've been trying to finalise the arrangements with arrow-

This is the current tactical situation

We will be fighting against the LW squad this Sunday 1st August, at 5pm (1700) GMT.

The difficulty settings will be as follows-
Cockpit locked on
External views on
No plane icons
No map icons
Obviously, these settings won't be the preferred choice for many of us, but I believe it gives pilots of all skill levels the chance to fly and enjoy.
Skin downloads will be off.

I have made 2 maps for the tourney. Depending on time, we may not have time to get through both maps. This is because each map we run will be played twice so that each squad flies as VVS and OKL.

The server we use will be dey_arrow's and although hasn't been tested with 32 players, it is a high bandwidth server and we hope it will be fine. We will try to test it before Sunday.
Arrow will set the player size to 31 allowing a moderator and 15 pilots from each squad to be online at once. The server is not dedicated unfortunately (yet) so the running of the game will be handled by the moderator. The moderator will not fly. Pilots will enter their planes when the moderator calls to scramble, and he will end the mission after 45mins of play.
If there are more than 15 pilots representing a given squad, it is up to that squad to decide how to rotate their pilots through the mission. The maps are dogfight maps (not coops) so pilots can leave and enter the server as they please. One possible method of rotation is to leave on death and let someone who hasn't flown have a go, kind of simulating reinforcements. If a pilot wishes to leave the server before the 45mins is up, he should notify the moderator so as to make sure his score his recorded.

When the second run of each map is finished, winners of the 2 victory categories will be annouced.
1st category: Tactical - winner will be judged on the squad who achieves the most destruction in terms of ground (or ship) mission objective.
2nd category: Overall - winner will be judged on the squad with the highest collective score.

The maps:
I don't want to give away too much to either squad. I will say this much-
Both maps are eastern front battles. Anyone used a he111 bombsight recently!?! Anyone skipped a bomb into a ship recently!?!.

Also, depending on participant interest and time, we may run a straight up dogfight mission including all planes in planeset.

In conclusion:
I know reading all the above may make things sound complicated. Rest assured, the moderator (me or arrow) will handle the running of the map, and the scoring and target objectives. Basically, you can just turn up and have fun. Any really important info will be given in the mission brief or in the chat bar.

LW squad and DEY squad have had great enjoyment flying against each other in previous tourneys I'm sure this one will be just the same! Perhaps this will shape the future of a long line of tournaments to come
