Again, why in America is the Red Barron cool and any German WWII pilot hated? WWI sold us on Red Barron pizzas and Snoopy while any luftwaffe stuff is NAZI.

Here are a few more strange series of events unknown to the American point of view. Tsing Tao was a German occupied city in China where the Germans made beer and supplied their naval fleet. The Germans held a number of islands in the Pacific prior to WWI. When the United Kingdom enlisted the help of the Japanese at the onset of WWI to remove the German occupation of Tsing Tao, the Japanese got Tsing Tao and all of the German held islands in the pacific. Later on in WWII you can see where the Japanese started the empire building with the Pacific Islands formerly held by Germany.

Back to the initial query, why the polarized villan and hero when the difference is between a biplane and a monoplane? Propaganda. Now its a lot smoother so we call it P.R. A force which has not so much changed the real facts as it has omitted the need for facts and replaced reason with emotion in making a determination. Emotion being much faster and appealing because we are more likely to side with a matter which allows us to avoid the taxing process of reason.

Really, much more can be said of this than there is time to read in a thread for now. For example the pandering for alliances based on ethnicity and the misreading of the actual beliefs versus the immediate need for resources.

Hi King Smiley

I just chalk it up to the fact we have the #14th or #26th ranked educational system in the world (depending upon which poll you use).  Unknown to many, are the twin facts that this includes colleges - and of couse that these rankings didn't just occur in the last few years.  You can still get a great education in the U.S.A. - but it's going to cost more than anyone but the top 10 to 20 percent can pay.

All the items you mentioned were popularized by TV.  Americans then, and Americans now (the vast majority) know NOTHING about WWI - other than what they learned on Peanuts, from Snoopy.  They can't even tell you the years the war was fought - and for the few that can - they will certainly not be able to tell you when the U.S.A actually provided troops on the ground in Europe.

Anyway, if I keep on - this will be a serious thread.  I meant it to be funny-haha  So laugh, darnit! Smiley

When I saw the dog for a sec I thought Jason 777 was developing slot machines. I don't get it, the slot machine. If there are all these adult people enjoying gaming then why are they into slot machines? More than 30 years ago a slot was a nifty game. Now we have graphics cards and monitors only to use them for video slot machines and video poker.

Well, that shot was not taken in the U.S.A. - most folks in that country can't afford a 4 year old computer.  Now that I think about it - lower income folks in the U.S. can't either.  Then there's the choices part.  One must have enough funds left over for weekly Lotto investment.

I'll bet you can find that machine in Vegas though.
