I'm posting this from a message I wrote in the private forum so non-TX folks who visit here can read the message.

OK Gents.... (This is a non-paid advertisement)

I received my TrackIR yesterday and just let me say that I now feel complete. After only flying with the device for about an hour, I can genuinely say that I'm going to love this! My first sortie out for the evening I scored three kills. Whereas I would usually be in pursuit of an enemy, have them pull some funky stall manuver (Just like I ususally do) and lose them in my field of view.... NOW it's more like VR! I keep my head and eyes on the enemy and my whole FOV pans to match; Much like padlock but totally under your control. It's the damn "Segway" of flight sim hardware.  "Think" where you want your FOV to go and it goes there...heh

The critical link between success and not for me so far has been the "pause" and "center" keys which I have bound to buttons on my throttle. While flying around looking for the enemy I have the TrackIR paused. Once I am in the saddle I activate the TrackIR and now have total control of my FOV. So far....aiming/gunnery with the TrackIR has been second nature.  Even though my field of view is changing with my head movements, I can still keep the crosshairs on the target. Is almost easier to tell you the truth.

If you're sitting there and thinking... "Hell, that thang sure does look cool....but does it work?" The answer is a resounding yes! I was very skeptical.... GO out and order this asap! Well worth the ca$h!

My $.02

check Shadows post in Squad chatter  I put in a diag. of how to build an active IR emitter, you think it's good now try an active IR  its even better  TrackIR adds so much to the SIM its amazing isn't it? Kinda gets rid of the the need for padlock hehehe
