Gentlemen,

We're working on a rough SOP for where we place our painted logo on the skins.

For now (unless there are major objections) the German fighters are having the logo placed over the section color stripe near the tail.

American fighters should have the luxury of having it on the tail again.

Russian fighters still need a good location.

Bombers and ground attack planes still need a location.

Suggestions welcome, skinning is begining to roll in high gear.

Here is an example for the D9 painted logo courtesy of Cage. Here we were unable to use the section color for the logo and relocated it under the cockpit with hopefully enough room for Rahman to put the pilots name. TX-ZenBlack 6TX Squadron CO

Looks great  Does this position still allow for the regiment?  I haven't looked at all the planes yet and where everything is placed....  I should have enough place to pop the name under the cockpit..... If not, I'll put it right in front of the cockpit.... lemme know!B~TX-Rahman"BLUE 2"

And here is where we wanted the logo on the 190's but it doesn't fit properly on the D9. Question would be do we want to standardize the logo for the FW's in one spot or put them individually based on model?TX-ZenBlack 6TX Squadron CO

The regiment on the 190's is on the left nose cowling fprward of the exhaust outlet, except for the D9 which doesn't seem to use them at all. I think there is room under the cockpit still for the D9 to have our names put there too even if the logo is under the cockpit. TX-ZenBlack 6TX Squadron CO

I noticed that on the right side of the D9 the logo was shifted in one spot, I did fix this by moving it, along with the section color band back some. . but this didnt quite look right.  :-(But under the canopy looks good also, and if our names go just forward of the center of the canopy they will fit for sure, if not right over the logo, so I say that looks good!!I for one think that the more standardized per type, the better, If all the other 190s can run it on the tail band, then I say we do that, and let the D9 have its own unique thing amongst the 190s. Those above shots on teh tailband look great.(btw, the P-47 inverts the graphics painted on the sides of the fuselage)Also, should we be flying our USA aircraft with USA as the country selected?? If we select Germany, they too will have the "Hakenenabled" thing going on as well. For now though I have heard that there is no way to enable national markings. . but that will no doubt change very soon.S!TX-EcoDragonCurrent mount: P-39 Q10Favorite Plane: BF109-G6A/Sand a bandit on my 6Most feared/resented FB addition: LA-7Characteristic noise during dive as reported by a third party witness: GGGGRRRRRRRBBBBBRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWK!!!

Shots of the A5 with the logo under the cockpit also:If we like this, then perhaps we should do all the FW's in this manner, I agree with Eco that simplicity is better. In fact, perhaps we ought to try and use this for all planes...I've been thinking that except for the 109's (because they put the regiment there) it might be workable across the board. Time will tell. Eco, I hadn't thought of flying the american planes with american markings to be honest...not sure if I like the marking scheme. Not a big deal, I was just assuming in this case that we usually leave the country as german so we continue to get Red 2, Black 3, White 1 etc in the icons displayed above our names. I didn't take care with the last batch of A5 screenies to get good sun like I did with the others above.I think the logo looks good below the pit, and like the idea of moving it elsewhere on the 109s to allow for the regiments that may be used.In regards to the US markings/planes:For those of us that go to full real, we need to keep in mind the national markings though.  I still like to use the TX-skins (they look good through the glass), but we use the correct national markings in those games.TX-CageBlack 5... end ...

They all look GREAT, but we wont be able to see the TX logo properly on the blue and red sections , due to the blue and red on the state itself, if were not gonna have regiments or nose art i like em on the nose. But on the color band is cool if not ofr the color of the TX flag .02 here.TornadoB~

yeah, I did one on a white section tailband, and it looked ok with it outlined in black, but the side of the fuselage is probably the easiest anyway. Either way works for me, and my preference is only a slight one.S! and great work,TX-EcoDCurrent mount: P-39 Q10Favorite Plane: BF109-G6A/Sand a bandit on my 6Most feared/resented FB addition: LA-7Characteristic noise during dive as reported by a third party witness: GGGGRRRRRRRBBBBBRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWK!!!
