Ok. . . I am not one to complain about getting another plane (well, as long as the Flight models and the cockpits are being fixed too)

But this is quite unexpected, and im sure will send some serious ripples through the community.  .  . yep. .. A6M Zero is this friday's Development update!?!?!?!  Well. . .I am especially happy becasue the Ta-152 will call to Zen. . and he may not be able to withstand the temptation, and the Zero. . well . .it will have to bring an F4U along with it. . . and I have no doubt that Cage will hear its radial sputter to life and long to be at the stick!

Wow, were did that come from.  As you say they bring in the Zero they will have to bring in the Corsair, then at that point I must insist that Oleg bring me my Fork-Tailed Devil.  It could happen.TX-ChukarBlue 1

Droooooool , I was going to say if the Zero, then Corsair, then the Devil, then certainlu the Grumman Cat's !!!, And low and behold, they are listed, wooooohooo, bring on the uber Yak's, the Grummans (if FM'ed correctly) will be unstoppable. P.S. Ahhh yes, Cage, I knew him well,  I'm sure he'll return tho the roost someday, hopefully sooner than late Wink.S~TX-TornadoBlue 3TX TO

Great news,   Is the Zero the only Jap plane in the update? The reason I ask is the Japs had much better planes than the Zero by the end of the war. And the reason they're being included is that the Russkies fought the Japs in the finnal months of WWII. By that time the Zero was most defintely outclassed. Hopefully they'll get their History books out and include later model Jap planes that did in fact go into combat against the Red Airforce.TX-BomblastRED 2

Yes Bomblast they went into serveice over New Guinea in April 1943 and were given the reporting-name 'Tony' by the Allies. They were the only Japanese fighters with a liquid-cooled engine. It was the German DB-601 Replica engine. However, in early 1945 one of 275 engineless "Tony"airframes were fitted with the Ha-112 radial engine and later even cutting down the rear fuselage and adding a bubble canopy completely changing the looks of the plane.  Although a sudden lash-up conversion this produced a staggeringly fine fighter, by far the best ever produced in Japan.  This aircraft, designated the Ki-100,"Otsu" and had no known allied code name. It was put into production with desperate haste.  One of the first Ki-100 units destroyed 14 F6F Hellcats over Okinawa in their first major encounter - without loss to themselves.  The easily-flown and serviced Ki-100 fought supremely well against Allied fighters and B-29 bombers to the very end of hostilities in the Pacific.S~TX-FlightRisk Black 3

Rgr. on that,BTW the Picture you have there is of a Ki 61a Hien (Tony), in fact, Kermit Weeks has one here in Polk Fla.at his Fantasy of Flight Museum. It's under restoration, and i've seen it first hand. It's a very small plane, very similar to the Bf109 it's copied from. How any normal sized fighter pilot ever got in it, is a mystery to me. If and when the Ki 100-1b ever gets in the game it will be a Uber plane for sure. I would still like to see the J2M3a Mitsu Raiden (Jack) included in the game. For it had Four wing mounted cannons and was designed for high alltitude bomber interception.Or better yet, the Nakajima Ki84 Hayate (Frank), great climber and could out manoeuvre the P-51H and the P-47N, I would take either one against any other fighter in the simm. Or at least give it one heck of a try.TX-BomblastRED 2

I have changed the way the post above about the Ki-61a looked and read a little. I needed to include both pictures to show that the KA-61a was the same plane as the Ki-100 Otsu with a differnt type engine, so I have now edited and posted both pictures. Thanks Bomblast for catching my mistake!!!!!!S~TX-FlightRisk Black 3

Hey Guys,  One thing to remember about the Jap. 20MM cannon, It's a direct copy of the Browning .50 Cal machine gun. The Japs seemed to have acquired one before the war and  they just enlarged the dimensions to make it a 20MM. With that in mind, NEVER get a Jap. plane on your six......or your toast.TX-BomblastRed 2

The A6M, P-38J, P-51, IAR 80, IAR 81, Tempest, Spitfire, TB3 (with I-16s on wings) and I think G50 will be flyable in either the first patch (TB3, IAR, G50) or the first addon.I eat, sleep, and deam of killing yaks. Then again, when do I sleep, I'm always killing them!

Russian aircraft require skill to fly.
German aircraft require ten times that skill, and one hundred times the patience!
