Gentlemen,

Take a look at this:

http://www.triplane.net/Reference%20Pix.htm

A man in South Africa is working on a FW190 project and took the time to make detailed photographs of the actual 190 cockpit visibility including the hotly debated forward view issue. For all you FW jocks out there, you might be interested to see what a real Jagdflieger pilot could actually see when in the plane.

I must say i like what the man says about IL2.Quote:"IL2 FB offers a variety of different 190 models to fly. The flight characteristics of the plane is probably as close as anyone can get, and the cockpit layout is meticulously detailed. If you want to experience a 190, this would be the one to get. There are a few issues they didn't get exactly right regarding the cockpit, but this is certainly the closest any of us will ever come to taking a 190 or any other WWII plane for a spin. Below I will include some more screenshots from IL2FB (Forgotten Battles) for your enjoyment."S~TX-FlightRisk Black 3

You know, in many ways this is true. While definately not perfect (as his independant photos show), the FW in this game is the closest match you'll find. Last night on the winter stalingrad map it was like old times, I felt just like I was back in IL2 at our heyday watching the swirling dogfights around Volshky. Having flown that map as much as I have in the past it was a terrific feeling to say the least to finally be in a 190 that had some ooomph to it. Everything was the same as the old days except this time, I had a FW that could fight like a mofo. Talk about an uplifting experience, it's like going back to your old preschool where the bullies terrorized you as a 4 old, realizing you are now 6 feet tall and suddenly kicking the crap the current bully and his gang of angry munchkins lol.TX-ZenBlack 6(EDIT: TX Squadron does not condone child abuse braaaawwwkkk!)
