Was on last nite whilst Rah was having difficulties trying to get into the TX server, and heard you fellas speaking of the new service pack from windows, heres a post Crewchief put up on our website, has a few links for reference as well.

S~ T

Windows XP SP2 is released for download.. but be warned
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Micro$oft has released the XP Service Pack 2 for general consumer use this week.. according to some articles I have read.. this update is the most aggressive relating to internet hacker, virus/trojan protection... But be warned.. some articles claim it may interfere with some applications and their connection to the internet, which could lead to some problems connecting to play the games we like to play. Also be warned if your using an illegal copy of XP, it is said that the SP2 update not only won't let you install it manually but, MS has compiled an extensive list of serial numbers to block, and if SP2 install is attempted it may overwrite some of you startup files, rendering the illegal copy useless.

Read about it here:

I have always liked the idea of the word "Update" ..makes me feel like I'm getting an overhaul, fixed, cleaned, and repaired .. or am I?? Nowadays, I'm not too sure "Update" is a word I like anymore.. maybe it should be called, "Install these files and flip a coin to see if your screwed on not" .. cause if SP2 screws up my gaming experience .. I'm gonna be one pissed off dude  .

Tornado...thanks for the read...My copy was purchased and licensed so no worries for me there....all my copies of XP were purchased... (I have like 4 machines with XP pro on them)...  As for it blocking games or causing issues.  I'm not convinced that that the service pack caused the problems for me.  I did a restore of my system before the SP2 install...still could not connect.  Will try again tonight...  Also...on another note...could connect to other servers.  Just would never finish loading the mission on the OC3.Regards,TX-Rahman"WHITE 6"
