Well,

It might be specific to my machine, but. . . I heard from two separate techs that there is a certain conflict with WIn XP running Service Pack 1, and these drivers. These drivers apparently had a fix in them for this purpose. I however didn't have any issues with the previous drivers, and now my system is in complete dissrepair.
They worked fine for about 3 hours, might have nothing to do with the drivers, but  I might advise you all to wait on the update, or consider keeping a 40.71 on hand and backing up esential files until you determine if this effects you.

S!
I am doing some troubleshooting today, trying to restore the system enough to get back to the earlier drivers, but now safe mode is crashing too. .. so. . . send me working computer vibes.

"My computer is not malfunctioning""I don't have a problem""There is nothing wrong with my computer""Moving Along"Well,I managed to pull off a system restore, but I had to go way back. . . gonna have to reinstall most of my software, and lost some hardware drivers as well. I guess I am going to have to bring my stem back up slowly until I verifiy that it was these nVidia drivers that dealt the final blow. I ditched class today. . . so, I might just be back up by this eve.TX-IhopethisworksDragon

I saw the link for the new drivers at MadOnion about a week ago and downloaded them. My machine has been periodicaly doing an instant reboot about every 2 hours since then. Never happened before..and with your system now going south for the winter it sure has to be more than a coincidence...hmmmmmm.First I thought it was Mechwarriors4 Mercenaries causing the problems( also could not run 3DMark2001 ) but since going back to the last good Certified Nvidia Drivers the reboot-o-matic problem went bye-bye. Stll cant run 3DMark2001 for whatever reason, and Mechwarrior4 Mercenaries is still a P.O.S. but hey, it's a microsoft game so it's to be expected.May the Swartz be with you !Black2
