To all interested in flying with TX Squadron, please read the following code of conduct and overview of how we operate.
First and foremost, we are all about teamwork. Our squad has been flying together for a long time now and is very tight. You must have a very strong desire to be part of a team that looks after its members and works together to make the game more than just high noon dogfights and endless respawning.
You must be willing to follow orders from our chain of command and accept certain restrictions in your conduct in games or in public. We are here to fly as a team and enjoy the game for what it is, not get involved in public drama, arguments or things that might detract from playing the game.
We are very proud of our image, we have worked hard to become a strong squadron and create a powerful team.
As part of that duty, we have mutally agreed to put the squad first above our own interests with the understanding that we are here for the enjoyment of the game. We don't operate with a heavy hand, we encourage input from all of our members and give proper respect to what each of us have to say. We believe that teamwork is the best way to get the most out of the game and conduct ourselves in good faith within the framework of the squad.
You must be willing to follow our established SOP's. Discipline and teamwork are the keys to success in any type of contest, we use SOP's as appropriate to increase coordination and teamwork and enhance the effectiveness of our squad.
Acceptance into TX is conditional. Understand that we reserve the right to discharge any pilot we feel is not a good fit within our squad.
While we are very proud of what we have created, we understand that our style may not be for everyone. We are not a bunch of guys who all wear the same tag and fly loosely together, we are tight, coordinated and aggressive. We require adherence to our policy's and code of conduct and are strict about certain types of behavior. You simply have to be willing to think teamwork first and foremost.
Our recruiting style is on a trial basis. If you are interested, we will invite you to fly with us for several nights out on the public servers. During this time we encourage you to be yourself and just fly. We will be checking you out, we invite you to do the same with us. GameVoice is mandatory, we rely extensively on voice communication for squad operations. You can download the free trial version here:
http://www.gamevoice.com/Download/gamevoiceshare.asp?Page=148After a period of time if we are comfortable with your style and feel you will be a good match (and hopefully you have been impressed with us as well) we will take a vote and offer you membership in the squad.
Don't be concerned about being tested or having us check you out by using aliases or any of that. Act naturally and things will work themselves out the way they are supposed to. We take everyone at face value unless we have a reason not to.

Generally speaking we operate as coordinated 4 ship elements which are subdivided into two 2 ship wingman combinations. It is highly encouraged to form a strong relationship with your wingman and fly with him as often as possible. Not only are you safer in the dogfight, it greatly enhances the enjoyment of the game.
TX-Zen is in command of the squadron overall and generally directs the missions during game time as well. TX-Kingsnake directs the squadron in his absence during tactical exercises and TX-Deck is our squadron XO, second in command for all non tactical related business. In practice we operate with good radio discipline and fly in a loose but coordinated style to accomplish the mission for the evening. Each 4 ship element carries out its own missions while being mutually supportive of each other with TX-Zen and TX-Kingsnake directing the entire squad as needed.
We are very fond of combined bomber attacks with fighter cover and flying a variety of missions to get the most out of the game. We enjoy hosting our own coops, conducting squadron training and increasing our skill as individual pilots and as a team.
If you are interested, please respond to this thread. We'll be happy to invite you out to fly with us.
See you in the skies,
Salute!
