To those who follow real world aerobatics, the Haute Voltige Aerobatics Grand Prix is a major event, with the worlds best aerobatic pilots flying their performances. Most of the winners of the "real" 2003 World Aerobatic Championships will be participating.

Recently a partnership/sponsorship has formed between what was previously known as the PAV (of which I had been a member) and they became the Virtual Haute Voltige Formation Team. They plan on giving a live performance, and are seeking teams to compete with.

The FAI World Grand Prix competition is open to VIRTUAL formation teams flying FB, during my involvement in this I solidified my feelings that this was the most challenging, most rewarding, most intense, and most beautiful thing that can be done with a flight sim. I am looking to form a team of my own, comprised of US pilots (or I should say, pilots on a similar sleep cycle, it was tough to fly with an Italian team very often, given that I am in California)

This will be serious and intense competition, and will require teams comprised of commited individuals. . . start training now! PM me, or reply here and let's fly! The PAV are wearing some amazing skins now, and their new site looks wonderful!

~~Salute!~~One of the mmbers of the Wing Walkers -WWShadow- is watching these guys pretty losely, and posting links etc. on our home forum to show off how they're doing. It's amazing really... Imagine, a virtual aerobatics team being made partners with a real-life aeobatics team?? COOL! Something I'm sure the folks involved would have had no inkling about when they started the team. The movies are down-right impressive. Talk about formation flying!! Smiley(psst... I like the new site, but what happened to the movie links??)Kudos and high-fives to the folks at Virtual Haute Voltige Formation Team. Kudos also to you, EcoDragon, for being part of that team. Quite a feather in your cap. :)I'd like to say that WW are ready and willing to compete... but that's going just a step too far. Wink We can hold two planes in close, for a while, but have never tried anything like what is shown by the VHVFT.

Salute!Never?  Well perhaps not to their degree, that's true, but that doesn't mean we can't. Keep me posted EcoDragon...I'm interested and I think I can find a few WW's who would be too, as a matter of fact I know of at least another WW I've spoken to recently who is interested in this as much as I am (not Sandy, though I bet with a bit of finger twisting he'd be interested too. )Dennis J. Well what's the status on your initial idea Dragon, haven't heard a peep from you either here or in E-mail or PM.Did you want to do this for your own "Team" only or get other squadrons to participate with/against each other etc?  Given up on the idea, decided to pursue this privately, or what?Dennis J. Hello,I am still interested in this, though I have been out of town dealing with some real world issues. I am still out of town but will be getting back shortly, sunday the 5th I will be back around. I am glad to see that you are following up on this, but I am sorry that I didnt keep you all updated. As far as my intentions, I would absolutely like to start working with people on this, even if they have their own team, or don't envision me as a part of it. I am not yet certain how much time I will have in the upcoming months-year with my academics and my real world flying, but if a group were to form that could train with a few reserve pilots in the event that one of us is gone and weekly (perhaps a couple /week) training/practice sessions could continue on that would be ideal. If you have a particular day and time that is good for you please let me know.I use Team Speak, Game Voice, and Roger Wilco, though if I host I must use TS, and allow only a few people in. I should be around on and after the 5th of october, so just give me a date and time, and lets meet up and talk about what sort of things you guys are interested in, and I will try to explain my objectives, and then after or during all that boring stuff we can get some flying in.What aircraft would you lke to use? I have used the FW-190 A5 with the PAV, but am open to suggestions (the P-39 works well also)thanks for your interest!S!TX-EcoDragonBlack 1TX Squadron XO

http://www.haute-voltige.com/virtualHVteam/photogallery.htmThe above link takes you to the photos of the VHVT at the Show. There was an accident on the first day which promted the grounding of the following performers. The Pilot was hurt fairly badly but is doing well now.  It appears the VHVT did still get some flying in, and perhaps helped to provide some additional entertainment. In fact, it looks liek they had a good time, even though Capo seemed pretty down about it when I spoke with him afterwords. The photos of the VHVT signing autographs is a testament to something. . .  It is nice to see that this sim is getting some recognition outside of the niche gamers who play it.S!TX-EcoDragonBlack 1TX Squadron XO
