 The Mustangs are arriving Friday along with the A10.                            They are going to have at least 10 P-51 Mustang on Saturday. They also will have static aircraft on display.

I was able to drop by on Sunday for a couple hours and take a look.  Thanks for the heads up Jug, it was well worth the time.  I’ve lived here for several years and have always been meaning to stop by.  I was very impressed with how well maintained these aircraft were.  Most of the flyable aircraft are in perfect like new condition. I was kind of blown away at the size and how close those big engines on the B24 are while looking out the pilots window.  What a monster - looks like it's at least 3 times the size of the HE111A view of what would have been through the top gun turret, but this was an early model not equipped with any turrets.  Starting three planes back in the assembly line however every plane thereafter had the turrets installed.The inside of this B24 (looking from the tailgunner position) was modified some, seats mounted on the side for passengers and the bomb bays were replaced with tool boxes.  Also I thought it was very strange that there was no hatch to get into the lower nose (radio,bomber and gunner positions.   You must crawl through a small hole and over and around the landing gear.  You can see light shinning throgh it and the nose gear strut in the center of it.Some of the noteworthy WWII aircraft here are:HellcatSpitHurricane109He111B25TBMF4 CorsairThey also have a P47 and P40 that I assume must have been performing at an air show somewhere else.

ooooh. . .thanks for the pics!!  It looks like a very. . perhaps intimate is the word. . . display. It is nice to get access like that without a massive stampede of people clogging the aircraft's arteries.S!TX-EcoDragonBlack 1TX Squadron XO
