Hey guys since I can't seem to get my squad swithced over to IL-2, I have to come to you guys with a problem.  It seems that lately my keyboard has been locking up when I play IL-2.  Not all the time, just on occasion so when its locked up I have to crash my plane, then I have to hit refly.  Sometimes I cant even do that, and have to exit and then restart my game.  Have any of you had this, or ever heard of this potential problem in the past?  Any info or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Killer,Just as a preliminary question, have you tried a different keyboard? Are you using any kind of wireless KB/mouse combo?I used to have problems with my logitech wireless KB and eventually replaced it with a PS2 MS internet KB. Haven't had a problem since. Throw out some more details and we'll see what we can come up with.Salute!TX-Zen"Black 6"TX Squadron CO

Does your keyboard lock up with other programs? Does it lock up on other graphics intensive games? Check your keyboard in controll panels. Some people have problems being stuck in 1 view and can't switch to other views. Is it your keyboard locking up or your connection to the internet. If you are wireless keyboard, see Zen's comments. If that does not work try alt hammer.Regards,TX-KingsnakeWhite 1

Well, I don't have a a wireless mouse or keyboard.  The strange thing is,,, I haven't installed any new programs or done anything to the graphics of the game either.  It worked fine before, it just locks up a few times.  For instance............I will be flying along, and go hit the Map key, take a look at what I have. go to turn it off, and nothing....then go to chase view and nothing.  So, I have to stay and fight with that annoying map stuck on, with no chase view, or elect to bite the high hard one, and take a nose dive, lol.  It seems to happen after I play on-line (IL-2) for an hour or so.  I am puzzeled.  This is the only game it does that in, and my Wingman controller works fine.  I am sure puzzled.

Hey Killer Elite,That happened to me for the first time a couple nights ago.  I had the map on, got lined up at a bogey's 6 and proceeded to turn off the map when I couldnt do it....thought ack, ok maybe a lag spurt or something.  Hmmm, wait a second that bogey sure is getting close.  Uh-oh no kind of response from keyboard or flight controls.  I was still able to use F12 to speak on the voice comms.  BAM, right into the back of the boogey...  hit the ground...  then couldnt leave with shift+esc to refly or turn off the map still...but was able to alt+tab or ctrl+esc (cant remember which one) and just went ahead and rebooted the machine.  Hasnt happened to me again (yet) and still kind of baffled about it.Anyways, wasnt much point in this post, other too let you know you werent alone.  :)Sorry couldnt help ya.Cage

A similar experience happens to me about every other night.   I have found that it seems to be IL2 is just confused, and usually I can get it working again on the fly.   It may not be the same situation you are having but give this a try....My keyboard looses responsiveness when I'm chatting and have the map on, and I haven't pinpointed when exactly it occurs.   I have found the solution to be:1. take your mouse and click anywhere your "chat" window is located2. hit escape to close the chat window3. toggle the map on and off... if this is successful then you have straightened everything out.Hope this helps, I know it might seem like a fairly simple solution but give it a try next time your keyboard locks up.   I think it is just a small bug in the interface, at least on my end.TX-Deck out.
