hello gentleman,

im looking to be squad material, got reeeeeal close to FIGHTIN IRISH, which they seem to be a fine group and all, yet they aint "texas local".

i have realised that its better (for me)to be a damn good wingman, than to be the ace. the repsect is on par if not better.  Im no ace, but i have my days. figured its about time i look for a squad that has the same interest as me, but can show me what i have been lacking. I offer time, pride, and patience  for these skills. those are nice, but skill goes with direction, and group training, which i have very little of. hopefully that where TX.SQUADRON comes in.

but im also in it for the "SERIOUS... FUN"

regards,
 GAU-8

Salute GAU, nice to see you post here. As I recall you and I have done some flying together here and there and had some good talks in the UBI lobby. I think you've got good skills to start with, which is not required for membership but is a plus.Get TeamSpeak installed and look for Eco, Flightrisk, Cuda or Rahman and they'll get you configured and help you sign in on our TX channel. Our first step in evaluating a pilot for membership is on voicecomms. We use a considerable level of teamwork and it's important that you fit in with the flow of what we do...as I'm sure you probably know by now we are not Yak stall fighters but are a BnZ squad. We have some fairly rigid rules of engagement in some ways, but these are designed to keep us high and fast and to capitalize on our strength in teamwork. We're not solo aces flying roughly together, we're more of a mutually supporting squad. I'm granting you access to our private member forum...please read and sign this post:http://www.txsquadron.com/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=&TOPIC_ID=960And then listen to this streaming audio file (and sign it as well):http://www.txsquadron.com/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=&TOPIC_ID=1164 The audio file is long but describes the direction we are headed and is very important. After you've listened carefully to the audio file, stop and think a while about what it means to you. This is how we operate so lets not have any miscommunication prior to flying together. For membership in TX, not only do we have to make a well thought out decision, but so do you...we're not an average or ordinary squad. See you in the air soon and thanks for your interest. I've known you for a while and respect you and your abilities, so I feel good about moving to the next step which is to get you on comms. S~~TX-ZenBlack 6

ZEN.ZEN ive got TS, so i should be up  and running within a day or two.    i can ditch my YAK 9K.... i just picked a plane and stuck with it. learned from it the best that i know how.  on the other hand, change is good. and i wont be by myself if im adapting to B&Z tactics. (plus, i get to experience true criticizm)          immersing myself to a whole new set of rules, aircraft fm/ tactics/ structured team effort and  communication wont exactly be easy. but im willing to walk away from "the solo life".   time and practice will tell, and well see how things go. no rush. "quality over quantity."  thats how id want it.ill be on HL full blast up till sunday night 2:30 am or so (finally an empty weekend!)thanks for the info.  ill be on the lookout for TX.GAU

GAU... I look forward to seeing you in the skies with us...  Don't feel bad about about the Yak 9K...  You can ask Zen....  I captured one way back when and towed her back to base with my 109...  I too learned this plane and am pretty deadly...  I won't look down on ya for flying her...  I do fly planes that BnZ better now however...  No more turn and burn for me!!Salute!Regards,TX-Rahman"BLUE 2"
