I think your sentiment is correct king. . .take a week . . . it aint no quick mission kinda thing. . the trainings are helpful, but you probably need to be ready to press s to pause (ya, what sense does that make!) to read and look and such. . . my fps are much worse in the campaign, I think I will need a new vid card to get playable fps in that mode. I thought perhaps that I might get a gift copy of this, but it turns out that m beloved apparently has no sympathy for my flightsim addiction. (can't say I blame her)Last night Emu was talking about how he was bummed out because he couldn't acquire a copy of it and then (bathed in a radiant light from heaven) his own beloved walked in and handed him a copy. My darling was sitting there listening and had a thoughtful look on her face and I thought to myself...'hmmm, maybe this will happen to me also' but then when I gave her a little look, she said "Thats very sweet, she is so nice to Eco". My heart soared until she said:"The answer is no"Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak!!!!So no lomac for me, at least for the next couple of weeks. Well....i rushed out like a eager little future jet ace, bought the game,got home...opened my new game up, discoverd no over lay, and that i am simply overwhelmed by all the functions/settings......take a week you say to get the settings and hang of this??  Try a month...maybe 2.....who knows.I'll dabble in it for now....maybe Eco or Rahman can help me out on comms sometime down the road, but for now, im going to try it in stages.

Yes, the first batch had no keycard included. . . there is a PDF to download and print, and also apparently UBI will send them to you with an email request through their FAQ pages.  This is stated in an earlier post I made, and has the links.And yes, I have owned most all the big sims out there, including many of the jet combat sims, and while the complexity isn't much higher, the fact that it ALL must be done with either key commands or joystick inputs makes you have to remember off the wall things for just about everything.  That said, there are some simplifications, such as easy radar, lock on nearest target etc, though I haven't tried these. If anyone has this and doesn't know how to get started, just get on comms, we have a lo-mac channel, and of course there are always some TX'ers willing to lend a hand. This sim is making me wonder how many controllers it will recognize. . . I need more buttons!!!  (um. . lots!!)BTW:I had my driver level graphics quality set to high performance, and my textures set to best performance on the driver tab, this made my textures look blurry but my fps weren't too great in the campaign, I had this idea to see how BAD I could make my FPS, which I have found to be a wise idea witha  new software, and I discovered that teh driver level changes do not really effect gameplay FPS at all, but setting them to higher visual quality makes it look SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Much better!!!The lighting effects are second to absolutelly none, and the aircraft and, cockpits and pilots are very detailed. I still get low FPS in the campaign, but now it just looks fantastic. The Moral is, the FPS hard hitters don't appear to be the textures, so you may as well, let them stay a little higher quality. (I am talking about in the display properties tab, though the ingame setting has the same impact, however max quality in game will not overide low quality on the driver)If this makes no sense to you, then that is fine, becasue your driver level settings are probably default and therfore you don't need to change them, though you could likely get a little better image quality if you increased them.S!TX-EcoDragonBlack 1TX Squadron XO

More buttons say you?This got me thinking..... there are all these gadjets out there for games.   They have a bunch of keys.    Why not just add another keyboard?Sooo.....Reached over on the shelf, plugged in a 2nd USB keyboard, and it was instantly recognized and worked in conjunction with the existing PS2 keyboard.Problem is.... how will LOMAC tell which keyboard is being used?I knew it couldn't be that easy.... lolYou might research this instead:http://us.thrustmaster.com/products/tactical.php3?skin=TacticalTX-Deck out.

Yep, this game is frustratingly difficult to learn. Will take quite some time to be able to dogfight with any kind of confidence. I'm finding my patience wearing thin. Guess I should try the easy radar thingy first. And, maybe try the training missions, lol. One good thing is, I'm finally glad I got a new pc. It looks great and quite flyable with most settings maxed.I did find on the web a nifty one-page keycard with the major commands on it. It's a word doc, so it's modifiable--and there's room to add your joystick assignments if you make the font a bit smaller.  Here it is: Also, someone has started a document that details how to modify textures (although briefly). Hey All,Looks like Im back for a bit here. Whats all this fuss about ? So a killer new jetsim came out and you all are whining about key commands ? hehe..You guys have been flyin these simple old props for too long. Being as that I spent most of my time through the years in these complex command jets , I expect Ill feel right at home. If you try to assign the same types of commands to the same quadrants of your sticksets in different sims , I find it to be highly helpful.
