Gentlemen,

Kingsnake created a new map that we have been testing on the server, a winter Stalingrad map with ground attack planes and PE8's on both sides. We worded the brief carefully to encourage coordinated ground attacks, vulching is legit and there are all kinds of planes to choose from. Map Icons are off to help the bombers get into position.

He also made a version of the map with a snowstorm and severely limited visibility, which is extremely cool. (Send him some thanks for the effort, he's a solid guy)

The online feedback?

It has been spectacular. The server is doing great, people have complimented us quite a bit on the variety of the settings and while the coordination is not on the level that TX practices, its damn good for a bunch of online players that never work together. The mission has a great feel to it, more realistic and way more interesting than the standard 12 o clock daylight missions that are the normal load for the online games. We have a couple minor details to work out but the mission is a huge success. If you have not had the time, hop on and check it out when you do. I can't say enough good things about it.

With the vulching restriction off and a variety of aircraft to choose from, people have been having fun flying 262's, Stuka's HE111's and ofcourse the PE8 with its little old nuclear bomb. People have been flying fighter sweeps to clear the way for the bombers, lots of planes get caught on the ground so the bomber pilot are actually getting that rush of a mission accomplished feeling, no one is complaining and everyone seems to be having a blast.

Lets hand it to Kingsnake for a job well done, he scored a direct hit with this one.

Absolutely! A great map. Kudos Kingsnake!! I really like not having the icons...makes it much more challenging and really tests your skills.Kingsnake, I recall you were wanting some COOP missions to incorporate ground targets...you may rather use the FMB yourself (I don't have the patience for it), but I've downloaded several excellent missions from Il2Hanger for ground attack. Tons of COOP and a huge new campaign are available. I've been playing with them offline and they're quite challenging. Thought some of you might want to check them out.http://srm.racesimcentral.com/il2.shtmlAgain, good job Kingsnake!TX-Dreggs

Great Job, Kingsnake!I missed all the fun with you  guys the other night when it first went up, but got to play on it today.  I had a ton of fun.  Got to drop a few eggs and turn around to continue on to a fighter sweep.TX-CageBlack 3

That’s been one of the great things about IL2, someone with an idea can make some changes and Wallah !!   Now we have a new aspect to the game, part of the reason we keep coming back.  Thanks Kingsnake for giving us a new challenge, love it.   Definitely have to work on my instrument flying, definitely. Thank you! Glad everyone likes the maps. I had to omit the Me 323, my favorite plane, due to the lag induced by paratroopers. I am working out the misc. problems and fine tuning the map. I left out the LA5 by mistake. Please reply with feedback here. A request has been made to omit the Yak9K. If this goes to vote I will omit it. Otherwise, it is a stock plane, and will be included. Also, I am planning on another poor weather map. Rain and crosswind on the summer version of Stalingrad. After all, this is the only eastern front flight sim. Weather was a critical factor in operation Barbarosa, and still is a large part of flight.  TX-KingsnakeWhite leaderRegards,TX-KingsnakeWhite 1

Again, awesome work with the maps Kingsnake, S~!  I enjoy flying your maps.  Co-Op and DogFight.I can see taking out the aircraft for reasons of lag (paratroopers), because we all see how well some people go by the briefing. What reason would the Yak9-K be excluded?By the way, the LA5FN can be aquired from the Eastern VVS base.  It's only excluded on the Western base, in the Winter Bombing Map that is.Keep up the great work.TX-CageBlack 3

White Leader, Keep up the good work, our popularity is soaring after putting up your well designed map and adding a carefully planned "outage" to decrease the IL2 fun supply and increase the fevered demand.  We should be millionaires soon enough, already the commerical endorsement offers have my phone ringing off the hook. I would like to see a variation with all planes on both sides, or at least IL2's for the germans. Though the HE111's and other planes are great, its a chore to fly external all the time, it lacks the feel of the IL2 cockpit shenanigans. As far as the Yak9k being taken out, I have see no particular reason to remove it. That needs to go to a vote as King mentioned or some other way to decide, but baring overwhelming animosity, I think it needs to stay in. Lots of people like to fly it and popularity is what we are about. Keep on with the maps, there is a talent there that is reflecting very well on you. TX-Zen"Black 6"TX Squadron CO
