Yes....good to have, considering the effort we went thru last night trying to figure out how to spool up the engines...lolOn a  positive note, I got my first online lomac air kill, wearing TX tags of course....:)This game online play needs a lot of work to better it...very buggy.S~ TX-Copper

I've been playing with the map editor and watching some custom battles play out with the ai. I'm nowhere near being able to shoot anything myself. Can't even figure out the easy radar. Doesn't help that the game crashes like clockwork either. But, I have gotten some pretty neat screenies:

The realism of those screenshots approach the detail of an early 70's Japanese movie.(and I mean that in a positive way!   looking good!)TX-Deck out.

Those were touched up with photoshop. Played with the contrast and saturation some. But, it still looks pretty good with the settings maxed, albeit not very playable. My pc is not a cray, lol. It's just a AMD 2500+ with a fx5900. Although it sometimes feels like a cray compared to my old one. Smiley

I'll clrarify a bit....I got a kill firing a AIM 7 sidewinder....no clue how to enable the radar for long range kills with the AIM 120 etc. Also, I'm not too sure which Russian missle do what yet, nor have i figured out the ir tracking.I have my settings pretty much maxed out and it runs smoothly, and maybe i'll try some screen shots for posting later.

Okay, I actually sat thru some of the training sessions, and believe it or not, they really are there for a reason!!!I have a better understanding of the pulse doppler radar, and which weapon system modes to utilize for different situations, when flying the F-15.  That bird really is user friendly, and I wonder if i'll be able to fly a Mig or Su without longing for it.As for the 29/27/33, when using it, and you are setting up to engage a enemy, select 3 for the verticle horizon radar, pass the "beam" across the target, holding it there, and hit the tab button....you will get an instant lock on with your ir missle, fire, and watch your enemy do the shuffle.....works well.I didn't fair as well today in a no icon server, as it is difficult to follow and trust the radar, but did manage missle shots before getting shot down.  Next is learning the ecm business end.For anyone who thought lomac was going to be a "fire missle, kill target, fire missle again, kill target again" type sim, your wrong.  This game is tough.  Hope everyone gets it!!Unless you guys want me to stfu about this, i'll keep posting what I learn etc here, so the lomac pilots can get a better understanding of this game.S~TX-Copper Green 4

I installed the game early this morning and made my maiden flight in an SU27, which is my favorite Russian plane. WTFHad a blast flying it, felt good but have no idea how to operate any of the controls...after a random series of key strokes I saw some sort of missile take off my rail and go ballistic, then I got rammed by a KC130 and exploded in mid air. (perhaps rammed is not EXACTLY what happened, perhaps I was fumbling for my gun controls and misjudged the closure rate)Flew the Eagle next and shot down a couple of AN- something or other transport aircraft, one with an AIM9 and the other with an AIM120. Unfortunately my AIM7's went ballistic without lock when I accidently rippled fired them at the 3rd target. I forgot to mention that I don't have the keycard either, so much of what I am doing is hunting and pecking on the KB while trying to engage and destroy the targets. Didn't have time to try an actual tutorial this morning but I'll probably get some time here soon. So far I like the game...my biggest complaint so far is the hat switch panning speed...facking way too slow. I saw the KB combo to speed it up is listed as ALT Numpad_*   But I couldn't verify if this worked. (just what is _* supposed to mean anyway? Press Numpad  _ then Numpad * or just Numpad *?)Other than the general confusion of being in a completely unfamilar AC with unfamilar controls flying against unfamilar targets and not knowing a single thing about anything, I thought it was great. :)The sonic boom crossing 1100KPH is sweet...nice touch. Someone needs to tell that nagging russian b*tch to STFU..."AoA exceeded" "Dive Angle exceeded", "Minimum Speed exceeded".....hey beeyotch, who the F asked you anyway? Jesus, get me some ear plugs. I forgot to mention that i'm also flying "sans" the key overlay, and although you can dl it, the girlfriends multi function lexmark printer won't work on my computer, therefore I cannot print it.Funny....my sheet of paper beside my key board is now crammed with little notes etc on what everything does, that I probably don't need the key overlay.Right now, I feel kinda good thinking im one or two steps ahead of you guys in this game, but that illusion won't last long, as i'm sure to be the "towel boy" very soon once you fellows play it more.As for that Russian chick......I seduced her last night, and now she only speaks when spoken to....heh.

Thank god someone shut her up :)Send me a xerox of that crib sheet you've got going there, handwritten notes are usually the best. Don't worry about being the towelboy if we all come over, we'll be looking to you for the headsup on the game obviously... and you're not one in FB either. TX-ZenBlack 6

I think it was Ctrl M or Shift M that applys the duct tape to betty or oksana or whoever it is that you have onboard. . . and to speed up the panning rate I think it was the shift key in addition to your panning (or was it enter??)Also worth mentioning is that when you have teh view zoomed out the pan speed is higher.I sure wish I had a decent PC and DSL/Cable down here. . . untill then I will enjoy the screenshots.S!TX-EcoDragonBlack 1TX Squadron XO
