Ghost Skies wants YOU!

Gentleman,

I would like to invite your squadron to join our competitive ladder league!  Ghost Skies is a Dog Fighting league that is different in concept than any other online flight sim league.  The competition will be broken up into cycles of 6 weeks in duration.  Once a cycle has completed, the stats for that cycle will be reset, and the new cycle will automatically begin right then and there.  No stopping for weeks or months at a time to reset.  The winners of a cycle will be honored in the Hall of Champions in 2 categories for both Squadrons and individual pilots.  The categories are Highest Score and Most Efficient (highest win%).  Virtual medals will be delivered to the winners to display on their websites.

The rules for Ghost Skies are a very new concept, and should be read through thoroughly.  They offer a very dynamic way to compete in matches.  You can dog fight in whatever settings you agree with your opponent upon, within the confines of the rules, and you can choose from a large variety of Battle Types, which range from standard fighters broken up into war eras, up to dog fighting bombers!  Matches can be played in the Ghost Skies room in the Hyperlobby.  More rooms are in the plans to be added in an upcoming Hypelobby client to meet our growing demand.  There will be weekly special game types where members of Ghost Skies offer suggestions, and the league endorses.  They will prove to be different, competitive, and very fun.  Squadrons do not need to challenge an opponent days or weeks ahead of time.  You merely need to ask an opponent for a match, negotiate the terms, and fight!  No more endless boring DF rooms.  All that DF fun has now been organized into a competitive ladder!

From time to time Ghost Skies will host tournaments.  These will be single day events for a single prize.  As the league grows, I will solicit sponsors to donate their wares for our tournament prizes.  The more prizes I can get, the bigger and more competitive the tournaments will get!  

Ghost Skies is for teams only, but you can fly 1v1 up to 6v6.  Zen has already registered, but hans't activated his account.  Copperhead saw that Zen signed up and went ahead and created a TX roster.  I just kept it on the inactive list until I heard from your team.  SInce I haven't heard from you yet, I thought I would give you some more information and make my invitation a little more personal.  

I’m very excited about this league and all the competition, fun, and camaraderie that will be generated from it!  I hope you consider joining us, helping us get Ghost Skies off to a fantastic start as a competitive flight sim league!

Oh No! They found us! :)Crash, thanks for coming on over to our site and posting the info. I have been meaning to pursue the competition but have gotten side tracked over the holidays though when I got a little more time I was going to put this into gear and get moving on it. From the feedback that I have heard in HL and other places, it sounds like you guys are off to a great start. I would love for TX to contribute and fly alongside the fine squadrons you have registered. Really nothing more to do then to get your boys signed up and decorate and fill in your roster page!Have all your members sign up and activate their accounts.  You, Zen, are pending activation.  I'll go ahead and activate you and place you as the CO of your squadron.  You will have the full authority and ability to chage anything on your roster page.  Its yours, so treat it well.  You will need the URL's for two graphics.40x40 icon100h x 710w bannerLook for a button on the side called MySquad.  It should be easy to figure out from there.  Get all the maps and SRM from the downloads and when you are ready, I'll get on comms with your and your team and teach you the ins and outs of the league.

Well, i'm signed up, but when I go to squadrons,  I don't see TX anywhere, nor does it let me select TX.Is TX as a squad registerd with Ghostskies?

ok, TX has been activated.  Zen, your account was pending activation.  Did you receive the e-mail to activate your account?  Is your e-mail chris@chrislyndes.com?   No matter.  I'm going to activate your account and set you up as the CO.  Just to make sure, I reset your password to:  12345678.  Next time you log in you change it.When you log in, look for a button on the right of the main page called MySquad.  This is where you, Zen, have FULL control over your own roster.  You will be able to eit all the displayed information, add pilots, and edit their ranks and roster priveledges.  Right now you are the only one with the ability to do this. Ersk is already on the roster.  Copperhead put him there when he created the roster.So, have your team sign up and activate their accounts, use the pilot button in MySquad to add them to your roster.  Read the forums which have LOTS of good information and tips about the league, and read the rules over.  Once you've done this get your boys together and I can walk you through a match.  However, if you don't see me, ask around.  There have been plenty of squads playing matches that will be glad to show you the ropes.  JG27, 69th, _54th, and RS are good candidates.  From now on, to ask me questions, ask them on the Ghost Skies forum.  Unfortunately I can't hit every squad forum all the time.  I remember to hit yours when I see Zen post on Ubi.  :)Welcome to Ghost Skies gents!  I hope you have a ton of fun!!CRASH
