....just read another news release concerning our "Fiber to the Premises" offering that started out in Keller,Texas and is now offered in Florida,New York,Maryland,Virginia,D.C,and someplace in California. Here is what they offer in Texas. Where I live just south of Houston (Dickinson/League City) we are supposed to get it next year....

"The company is also announcing that it will hire between 3,000 - 5,000 new employees by the end of 2005 to help build the new fiber network.
Verizon began offering its fiber-based consumer phone and Internet access services under the name of FiOS in Keller, Texas in August. FiOS provides three consumer broadband speeds - 5 Mbps (upstream)/2 Mbps (downstream), 15 Mbps/2 Mbps and 50 Mbps/15 Mbps. Pricing for the services starts at $34.95 per month, when purchased with a package of Verizon services for the 5Mbps service.
The company expects to market video services on the new FTTP network next year."
